Gem Cart Batteries - Gel or AGM ????

Help. I need information ASAP

I have a 2008 Gem that I bought new batteries for. I purchased AGM as they would be twice the power and durability of the Gem Gel batteries which I never did get more than 15-17 miles per charge even when new.

Now I need a new charger as my charger Delta Q will not work with the AGM batteries as it is a higher speed .

Does anyone have the "Ride for Fun" charger that works with the AGM batteries that can enlighten me with their results????

My choices are to use the AGM batteries and the Ride for fun charger (more money) and get more miles (200 run time minutes) or go back to the Gem Gel batteries (Trogan) and use the old charger and get 100 run time minutes.

This is my only vehicle and I only do my big running maybe four times a month. Spanish springs, Walmart, Aldi, and Lowes and back to Mallory. Then if I go to Laurel Manor, I can't.,...............:cryin2:

I have a 2005 GEM e4 with Gell batteries. I recently installed the charger you will see at this link - Quick Charge Select-A-Charge On Board 72 Volt 10 Amp Charger | ChargingChargers.com (http://www.chargingchargers.com/quick-charge/obsc72-10.html)

It is the same charger as the Ride 4 Fun but a couple hundred dollars cheaper. It will handle the AGM batteries. I am very happy with the purchase but you should know that the BDI will not be automatically updated to show your state of charge using this charger, but I have an easy work around for that issue.

Are you sure the Delta Q won't handle AGMs? I thought the Delta Q had an AGM algorithm....I will look and post back tonight.

You are correct the Delta Q does not have an AGM battery algorithm. Checkout the lik in y previous post if you are interested I a new charger.

Are you saying I can use the AGM batteries ? I have decided to go back to the gel batteries as I have been without any satisfaction with the AGM and the Ride 4 fun for the last five months.
