New here.
Just introducing myself.
My name is Laura. Hubby's name is Marvin.
Hopefully we will be retiring to the villages next year sometime.
We currently live in South Daytona Florida. Hubby was born and raised
in Daytona Beach. I was born and raised in Rhode Island, but have been here in Florida since 1975.
Been to the Villages numerous times, looking around, getting a feel for the
surrounding area's.
We truly love the concept of the Villages and are anxious to move there.
Started looking at homes, seeing what available, resale verses new.

Was wondering, do any of the fitness centers in the villages have Sauna's ?
I couldn't seem to find any information on this.

Thanx for help.

Hello Laura. Welcome to Talk of the Villages. Isn't The Villages a beautiful and amazing place? We fell in love on our first visit here nearly five years ago. What part of Rhode Island? I lived in Woonsocket for a little over two years and loved the area. I made some good friends there.

To answer your question, there is a sauna in the MVP Sports Club Membership | MVP Sports Clubs (http://www.mvpsportsclubs.com/florida-the-villages-mvp-athletic-club-spanish-springs/membership)
at Spanish Springs. It isn't part of the recreation centers which are part of the perks for living in TV and paying your amenities. It is an independent business with a separate paid membership. It is really nice and a wonderful option. There is one being built in Brownwood. I don't know if it will have a sauna.

Again, welcome to the forum. I hope you hang around and participate.

Welcome, Laura. It always amazes me when people move away from the coast to come to TV. It really speaks well for TV!

I don't think there are saunas in the fitness centers located in the rec centers. Also, it's my understanding that all the fitness centers require a membership fee. I'm not sure if they are as high as MVP. Maybe someone else who knows will respond.

Thank You all for your warm wishes. We are getting excited about our move.
It will be nice to move off the coast. We were here for the 2004 hurricanes.
Our home is located on a canal about 5 houses up from the Halifax river.
The canal overflowed, flooding the streets. The river overflowed, came up the street,
bring peoples boat docks with them. it was quite a mess.
The cost of insurance here is outrageous, not including flood insurance. The savings alone will help offset any costs we may x-tra encounter living in the Villages.
We are so looking forward to this.
BK, I was born in Central Falls Rhode Island but grew up in Cumberland.

We are coming up to our one year anniversary of owning in TV. While we are only part timers, every time we come to TV it gets harder to leave.
Love it here!

Hold off on the fitness center, a new one has just broke ground on 441 in lady lake. It will be a fraction of the cost of the one in the Villages.

Also, you need to be looking at site built homes in the Historic District in Lake County & Lady Lake, much more bang for your buck.
