Okay, what are your thoughts?

A Weston, Fl. coach was suspended for slapping his QB in the helmet when he came off the field.

What do you think about this?
(Hope this link works).

On the surface it seemed ridiculous that this head slap could get a coach suspended. I then looked at this link for more info:

Mark Guandolo: Cypress Bay football coach Mark Guandolo suspended after slapping helmet of player on national television. - South Florida Sun-Sentinel.com (http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/highschool/broward/sfl-cypress-bay-football-coach-caught-on-camera-slapping-players-helmet-20130826,0,1723890.story)

and after reading/watching that, I find it even more ridiculous he could be suspended.

I think that most of the folks here in TOTV who played high school or college football will say that was perfectly acceptable and it happens all the time. At least, that's how my faulty memory remembers it.

You have got to be kidding me that he was suspended for that. Play the same video and caption it "great play, atta boy" and it would have been fine.
Some people are always looking for something to protest about.

When I retired, some of my buddies who were retiring about the same time thought it would be easy money to become a substitute teacher. All it takes is one or two students saying you did something inappropriate (and lying about it, of course) and you get suspended, charged, named, and even if it is found to be untrue, your reputation is not worth anything from that point on.

Teachers are fair game, I guess.
