Do you have to have a landscaper do your work or can you cut your own grass if you want?

You can cut your own grass if you want but we use a service as we are here to play.

You can certainly cut your own, but for about $10/week you can have it done and not worry about beatin the heat in the summer. It grows fast and it gets hot here - not fun.
That includes trimming, edging, cutting, blowing. Yep about $40/month. They are in and out of your yard in no time - you also pay through the winter when you won't see them for a few months, but worth it IMHO.

Of course you can do your own. Hubby likes the exercise. Do your own shrubs too and weeding and fertilizing if you like.

Yes, you can cut your own grass. We cut our own and it only takes about 30 minutes per week. We also fertilize and apply grub control. Our neighbors are upset because they have landscapers and cannot believe that our lawn looks better. In fact, one neighbor told their landscaper that they want a own like ours. We loved the compliment

I cut ours. Trim and edge. It's good exercise for sure. Only problem with our queen palm is it has gotten to tall for me to cut the seed pods out. I will now have to hire someone to do it.

I cut ours also. I find a perfect summer day is when the sun is shining, the breeze is blowing, the birds are singing, and the lawn mower is broken.

Look at all the outstanding lawns, those are maintained by the owners.

Quite the opposite. You can tell when a service does it every time except for maybe the weeds in the beds.
Trimmed and edged every week not when it's overgrown.

I did cut my lawn, weed trim edge etc for 5 years but then the heat began to bother me. So I hired someone to do my lawn but I still trim my bushes and kill weeds. I have a guy trim my trees.

We have a landscaper for grass mowing, but hubby trims the bushes. He is thinking about doing the mowing himself, but then we'd have a lawnmower to store and service. Decided against it, for the small amount it costs to have it done now.

I love cutting my own grass. I will continue to do it as long as I am able. I also trim and edge and blow all the clippings away. I fertilize and put down insecticides and weed killers. My lawn was a disaster when I moved in and it's coming along quite well now. It's not great yet, but it takes time.

I do my own and my neighbor has a service. You can't tell where mine ends and his begins. They both look good.

Hey Doc. I'm sure yours looks nice. We did have a neighbor in WP who maintained his too and it was beautiful. Neighbor behind him did his too and never trimmed or edged.
They had to leave town for a death and the neighbors took care of his lawn. Never looked so good...for a while.
