The county elder affairs office can help.
http://sumtercountyfl.gov/DocumentCenter/Home/View/261 gives info on Sumter Co. I suspect Lake and Marion have something similar.
Every area of the country is served by an "Area Agency on Aging" (almost always with that exact title as it has a basis in law). The AAAs are required by the Older American's Act and they are best resource and assistance for services for seniors. Note that they can't always "recommend" a specific facility or provider. However, if you lay out what you or your loved on needs, they can tell you who fits that profile. They also have some of the most dedicated staff you'll ever meet. In some (but not all) states, the AAA director is the public guardian of all seniors without a guardian/conservator/family.
Note that if your loved one is located somewhere else, the AAA for the area where they are can help you.

Check into Avante at Leesburg. We had our sis in law there and we were pleased with the care. they do take medicare and medicaid..we were considering the Arbor first..but it didn't work out. Avante is always clean, smells clean, and they are very active there...lots of things/activities for the patients to get involved in.
