I had occasion to tag along with my dear friend who is interested in a CYV near Spanish Springs. The home is available for long term rental which is exactly what she needs.
We were to have gone one day prior but the owner had to reschedule as something came up.
The time was se for 2PM and we were excited.
Well, upon entering this place, there is a couple present who say to my 82 year young friend, "Sorry to tell you but I am taking it and I am giving her a check!". Her husband said "You're not getting it" and walked outside.
I was infuriated. This woman canceled her appointment and showed it to another person without abiding by any mores~ at all. She had people get first choice who were to have come AFTER us and openly said' her appointment was after yours".
The owner is disgusting and we told her that she was very rude in what she had done. I suppose it is safe to say that the renter.... the persons daughter.... will find out just what this person will do to have it her way.
As for the couple, they, no doubt, show as goody goody while turning the knife in the neighbors backs.
Good riddance in San Miguel..... #1669.:cus::boxing2:

It might all be for the best. There are plenty of rentals here

The other folks got there first - even though the owner had cleared the space for you. They liked it and obviously said they would take it right then - at the price she wanted.

If the owner had waited for your friend, the deal might have fallen through. Your friend might not have liked something and decided not to rent the place.

After all, money talks.

And there are a lot of other rentals your friend can choose from.

Everything happens for a reason. I bet you find a better place.

Trust me on this one. You were saved by NOT renting from these folks.

I agree with raynan, forget it and move on. There is something better out there for your friend. She was probably spared by not having to deal with this owner who obviously is not very fair or thoughtful. It could have turned out to be a vey unpleasant lease situation.
Keep looking, the right thing will show up!

I do recognize that they got there first, however, there was an agreement that she was not to have shown it t anyone else but if she did, she would advise that there was someone with first right of refusal. e had arrived at the time set by the owner from her cancellation the day prior. Point being, if you are a woman of your word, you don't go against that spoken word. She also knew that there was cash involved. It was a disgusting move. That there are others available is true but of no consequence. It is a matter of ethics and mores. All lacking.

Thanks, all. Just comeuppins aside, we sealed a gorgeous deal with a never raising rent ad infinitum.
1669 implodes with negativity.

Be glad. That would have been the landlord from HELL.
