Went to Evans Prairie for the first time for dinner at around 6:30 p.m. Friday after attending the College Colors Day festivities.

There were plenty of people inside dining but we were seated promptly. Our drinks and meals (Southwest Pasta for me and Chicken Alfredo for the wife) were also brought to us pretty quick. Our deserts were also delicious (Chocolate cake and Pecan Pie a la mode).

Thanks to our server Ericka for such a great experience. We'll certainly be back.

We went to Evans Prarie last night too with a group of 32 We too were seated promptly and I enjoyed my dinner of pasta and a little filet mignon.
Our server Laurie was EXCELLENT. Our whole group was served promptly and I heard no complaints on the food.

I wanted to say thank you to the owner, but he wasn't there.

4 of us were there Thurs nite @5pm and seated immediately and had service promptly. Appetizer and meals were all great. Owner was there and checking with each table to see if everyone was satisfied. Nice dining experience.

Not to mention another absolutely beautiful establishment built in TV. I thought it was just a beautiful place to sit and enjoy a meal.

Had dinner there the other night with friends. For some reason, my burger had a strange smell to me. Everyone else enjoyed their meal and I liked my fries. There was no argument, no fuss; just an offer to make it right. Since most were almost done eating by the time I caught the waiter, I said no. So, it was just taken off the tab. I truly appreciate that they didn't tell me I was nuts and the meat was just fine nor absolutely force me to have something else. To me, this shows style and I will happily go back.

We ate there last week. I ordered the shank and was about four bites into the meal when the waitress came back to the table carrying another plate and told me that although I probably hadn't noticed...I had not...they had put the wrong sauce on my meat. She took my plate away and served me a complete new meal. I was impressed, and the food was terrific.

Went there today for lunch. Anyplace that the manager meets you at the door and comes by your table to check on you is my kind of place.

Always good to hear a good report on one of our restaurants in TV. I understand Evans Prairie and Bonifay is leased by the same person. Sounds like they are really trying!

Yes, the same owner for both. He will soon be opening Scooples, an ice cream shop, in Brownwood.

We've been there several times. Always a great meal and great service. It is quickly becoming our favorite CC restaurant, and a go to place when we have guests. We always enjoy Bonifay too.

Second the post on the manager being visible and customer oriented. Was there during a long power outage and he came right out with an apology, free drinks and kept us posted on efforts to get the power back on.

Not much you can do about the flies during fly season.

Sharing the news that Evan's Prairie has a new lunch and dinner menu. Some of the favorites are still on both menus but a lot of great additions...check it out.

We went there for the first time today. Beautiful view but thought the menu was too limited for us. Also, they were out of Yuengling beer on a Saturday at lunch, which we thought odd. The computer paper kept jamming for receipts. Hubby asked for no tomatoe or lettuce, but got them anyway. His drink was mostly ice. So... I'd say overall it was OK, but a bit disappointing. Would stop again for a martini though.

Hey, don't give up on EP. the manager is a great customer service guy, so if anything isn't up to snuff, ask for him.

We went there the other night to listen and dance to Bobby Tate. We wanted to sit at one of the high tables near the dance area but were told there was no food service there. We said that we would only have drinks then. Few minutes after being seated the waiter brought us the new menus. It did not have the wrap we have been getting there for the last two months, mentioned this to the waiter and he returned in a few minutes tellin us he could get the wraps for us (which are normally a lunch item). Would definetely recommend going there.

We went to Evans Prairie tonight for dinner and forgot they implemented their new menu. I was excited to see it. I must admit I was pretty disappointed. My mouth was watering for their shredded pork sandwich and my husband always gets the country fried chicken. However, when we opened up the menu neither was there. We were also going to order the onion rings but they were gone too. We ended up getting the schrooms which were good as always. So we went to plan B. Hubby ordered the stuffed chicken breasts and I the citrus chicken sandwich. We were both disappointed. I couldn't taste any flavoring in my sandwich and my husbands chicken breast had the exact same crust as the schrooms and the same filling. His Brussel sprouts were heavily coated in garlic, which he couldn't eat and the mashed potatoes were very dry and heavy. Needless to say he didn't eat much of his meal. We did address the meal with the manager and he was very apologetic and said he appreciated the feedback to he could tell the chef. He did take it off our bill and gave us a dessert to share, on the house. We eat at Evans Prarie about once a week and it is one of our favorites. However, with the menu change we will probably go more for lunch and not dinner. They took away the pub like food and replaced it with more upscale food. We kinda figured it was to increase the prices since the snowbirds were returning. We asked the manager why the menu change and he said they have been open for a year and it was time to change the menu. He said they were trying to make the place more upscale. They also took away a lot of the sandwiches. Here's another thing he told us, if you see something on the lunch menu that you want for dinner, except the flat breads, they will make it for you. I had told our server I wanted the pork sandwich, which was on the lunch menu, and she never offered it to me for dinner. I told, the manager that and he said he would inform the staff that lunch items were also available for dinner. I will definitely go back to Evans Prairie but most likely for lunch. The menu change was not in their favor, in my opinion.

Sweet potato fries gone, buffalo chicken sandwich dry, bun stale. Upscale? I'd say typical mostly fried bar food, like most of what is available in TV. The food in TV does not live up to the healthiest home town image. If you are vegan you are about out of luck. Want a good bean burger? Forget it.

I like Evans Prairie very much. They served over thirty of us from our Village without hassle. The food is good and certainly not expensive.

I say that if the new menu isn't working for you, tell the manager. He seems to have his fingers on the pulse.

If you are vegan you are about out of luck.

We find a few things at almost all the restaurants, (I don't mean a salad) may have to ask or tell them what you want and how to make it to your liking.

If you are at Evan's for dinner and wish to see the new lunch menu they will absolutely provide it for you. They have kept some of the old menu items and added new items. It's a great restaurant and very willing to adjust to your specific needs. It is also one of the few country club restaurants that welcomes the golfers with open arms. They will seat the golfers even if some of their party is still on the green playing. Evan's love the Village residents and is happy to accommodate.

Well on Saturday 10/19/13 my " Wifey " as opposed to " Hubby " and I tried Evans Prairie and " Wifey's " dinner was fine however I had Shepherds Pie and it was without a doubt The WORST Shepherds Pie I have ever had. How anyone can screw this up is beyond comprehension. A very simple recipe. We " Wifey " and I will try again another time.

As for the suggestion of speaking to the manager ..I stopped talking to walls along time ago.

We went to EP two Saturdays ago and found the service to be good. I ordered their steak/shrimp special. it was good . My wife order steak pasta dish really bad tasting. I was surprised that they were out of Strip steaks on a Saturday. Order their 8 oz filet Good cut cooked to my request

We prefer water with our meals so can't comment on drinks

We went last Wednesday with a group of 26. Service was good. Noticed my favorite buffalo chicken sandwich was missing from the menu. Ordered lettuce wraps and sent them back. Looked like they used chicken thigh meat to make them. Very unappealing. Asked her for the buffalo chicken sandwich and even though it wasn't on the menu she got it for me anyhow. This is one of my favorite places but seems like mixed reviews lately.

This is the worst restaurant for food quality and service in The Villages! My advice is skip it and try somewhere else like Cane Garden, Havana or Brownwood! Enjoy!
We like Evan's Prairie & go quite often with friends. Never had a bad meal and have always had good service.

Had breakfast there last week----everything was great, especially the omelets. We've had dinner there 3 or 4 times, no complaints about the food or service. And before I hear any garbage about having "low standards", I've eaten at some of the best restaurants in the world, My wife's mother was a professional waitress at an upscale NYC restaurant and my brother-in-law was a graduate of the NY Culinary Institute and owned his own restaurant. My wife and I know food.

Did your brother-in-law graduate from CIA in Hyde Park, NY? I have eaten there a few times. It was great!

If I go to a restaurant twice and the food and service is poor I just don't go back for a long long time. It is very simple. I have never found a country club to have great food but I am sure there are some. I hear that Hacienda is good.
