Primary Care go to The Villages Healthcare System and apply - Colony
Dentist - only recommend Dental Discovery in Ocala - they take BCBS & Preferred Care Partners and many other medicare plans & are reasonable. Most dentists around The Villages are parasites - you come in and all they tell you is that you need 'deep quadrant' cleaning at $600/quad then they tell you need 18 teeth capped for a total of only $9,500! Having been a dental assistant there is NO SUCH thing as deep cleaning. A cleaning is a cleaning is a cleaning.
The Villages Helathcare System will refer you out to other docs as you need them. Hope this helps! Welcome to TV!!

Great Response - you are absolutely correct about the Dentist in TV - my husband and I have been having our teeth cleaned every six months for years - now we move TV and both of us were told we need a deep cleaning - full mouth $1,200 each - one crown needed for $900 - went to another dentist no crown needed - it's terrible and so many are going through this same experience! We may just call your dentist!

I'm also new and am a little confused about the Village Health Care System. What do you mean you have to apply? Do they decide if they want to accept you? How does it differ from the primary doc up North

No you don't apply. We went to Colony Center. A volunteer met us at the door, and we requested packets. We were to fill them out and either bring them back or mail them in. Then we received a phone call. At this point we selected our physicians and made first appointment for 45 minute meet and greet with new doctors Next appointment is for physical. Each doctor is limited to 1250 patients which is quite a bit less than most primary care physicians. While they are looking at your packet, they will verify insurance.
