View Full Version : Why do bocce courts offer no shade?

Not much of an issue in the cooler months, but the question comes up often when it's toasty outside. (Then we try to figure out how we can move the shuffleboard structures! :pepper2: )
Does anyone have the history behind this? Conspiracy theories are welcome.

Where we stand to throw the ball at Mulberry are shaded. Course we are an older and well established Villages neighborhood. Gotta love that!

Chula Vista Bocce courts....They seem to have LOTS of Trees...

There are no tennis courts, pickleball courts, golf courses, pools, etc.... in total shade so why should bocce courts be in shade?

Not the courts - just the seating areas at ends of the courts.

The bocce courts at paradise are under trees and fully shaded

I have wondered the same thing. Why not at both ends like the shuffle board courts.
