My husband and I recenly transplanted from Michigan to the Villages. We are Sue and Jim Brannon and are looking for fellow neighbors/co-workers who have also moved here. I just retired from General Motors and my husband from EDS/HP. Is there anyone out there?

Did you look through the list of Clubs? In the band at the top of this page, it's the second tab in on the left hand side.

Let me know, please, if you find one or get one started. I would like to join when we finally move to TV fulltime.

We are from Warren, Mi and will be moving there in 15 months. Next week we are coming down for a LSV and plan on buying a house then. You should not have any problems finding people from Michigan. When we were there a few years ago we met quite a few people from Michigan.

Lots of former Michiganders down here.... A good place to start is attend a meeting of The Villages Michigan Club on Tuesday, the 17th at LaHacienda Rec Center.

We are from Hamburg, Michigan (between Ann Arbor and Brighton off US 23). My husband is a Ford retiree and worked at World Headquarters in a management position. We sold our Michigan home in 2009 and became full time Villagers a little over 3 years ago. You'll love it here and won't miss the snow and ice one bit...at least we don't!

I'm from the Lansing area but have family in Detroit area and went there often.
I tried with little response to get a GM club started about 4 years ago. I'll be looking to join if someone gets things going!

Welcome all Michigan folks to the Villages.. I come from Frankenmuth ( home of , yes, the Christmas store & Chicken place ) .... never thought anyone actually lived there. Also worked for GM...retired after 37 years. Have not found of a GM club down here ??? Maybe it's time to start one ???? I'm sure you'll love the Villages more than FLINT

We are from the Flint Area - actually Swartz Creek. I retired from GMSPO about 10 years ago and worked with quite a few of the EDS people on a number of projects. We are still snowbirds so I can say you will truly appreciate being here this winter when you call "home" and they tell you how cold it is .

I know the other replies suggest the Michigan club and that is probably a good idea, but we haven't gotten around to joining. I often wonder why there isn't a southeast Michigan club for all of us from the I-75/US 23 corridor but I guess it is because no one wanted to take the responsibily for organizing one. I also have seen all of the other employer clubs and have wondered why there wasn't a GM/EDS club, but then I guess the answer is the same as above.

Regardless, welcome to The Villages.

Welcome to The Villages from a fellow Flint area GM retiree. We are from the Swartz Creek area and I retired from GM SPO and worked with EDS on several projects, so I can certainly say "Welcome".

The suggestion to join the Michigan Club is a good one, but I'm always surprised that there is no South East Michigan club and no GM Retiree club either. Must be no one wants to take the responsibily.

Anyway, welcome.

Born and raised in SE Michigan- Royal Oak and Bloomfield Hills. I currently live in The Marion County portion of The villages. Why would your SE Michigan club exclude the population north or 466? Exclusive or snobby?
