We will be taking the village van Monday morning from the Orlando airport. Where do we go when they drop us off? Is there some sort of orientation ?
We are so excited about coming to TV!

You pick up your keys and go to your rental...and it will be up to you if you want to look at homes. If you are on the lifestyle visit.

Yes we are doing the lifestyle preview plan.

The way those smart people sell homes is not to sell homes. You don't HAVE to go to anything or hear any spiel.

You just go around in a golf cart or bike or car, eat some meals out, and talk to as many people as you can. You will see a lot of things to make you fall in love, and everywhere you go you will drink tall cold drinks because it is hot out. The water here has an element that causes you to come back and soon you too will be one of us.

You will probably fall in love with this place like most of us did.

It is wonderful here.

MoeZ - when the van drops you off you should go directly to the Sales Center and meet up with your sales rep. He/she will take you to your villa and explain everything - and will be "at your call".

moez - i suggest you call the person who made your visit reservation [or call the sales office] and ask them to have someone meet you upon your arrival at the depot and provide you with a brief orientation and transportation to your lodging! it could be a hike to the sales office from the depot carrying your luggage.

perhaps the van will drop you at the sales center if you cannot reach the person who made your ressie.

have a wonderful visit! :)

We are coming down in two weeks. We were asked what time we would be arriving, so they would be there at the sales office to give us the key and whatever other info they have for us. I didn't think about transportation to the villa. We will be dropped off by our driver. I'm assuming they will take us there.

moez, You have probably heard this already, but if you have time, take the trolley tour that leaves from the sales office at Lake Sumter Landing or Brownwood. If you don't have a rental car, the sales office at LSL is only a few blocks from the LSV villas. It only takes just under an hour for the trolley tour, and it takes you through the new/newer sections of The Villages. You can ask about the trolley tour at the sales office at Lake Sumter Landing.

And I am also taking advantage of the LSV in October, even though I have been to The Villages 6 times since 2010. I figure I had better take advantage of the LSV while they are still available. If The Villages really does build out in 2 to 3 years, I didn't want to miss out on the LSV experience.

Let us know what you think of The Villages! Hope you have a great time on your LSV.

We are settling on our home next week. We were amongst the last to be able to custom order. In January we were told the buildout would probably be 2 to 2 1/2 years. We were told custom orders will probably be or only a year and a half or so. In April we bought a lot and began construction in July. In August, all custom orders stopped (not the 18 months speculated in January.) the buildout will be sooner than three years unless they acquire more land or mortgage rates it 1980's levels.
If you're interested, you should seriously think of buying now. After the buildout is over, the checks and balances between resales and new construction will be gone and prices will probably increase even more dramatically. Moreover, right now there are 10,000 boomers/day retiring. The big wave will be from those born in the early 1950's. So, in three or four years the pressure from that wave can cause prices to skyrocket.
Just an opinion....but think about it!
