Dutchess County in New York's Hudson Valley is one of the prettiest areas of New York. I'm not surprised that you're only interested in spending winters in Village land.

I currently live in Beacon. I am coming down to hopefully purchase a Courtyard Villa in October. The Hudson Valley, I believe, is one of the most breathtaking beautiful places in which to live. I cannot give it up for good so, I will soon be living the life of a snowbird. I am looking forward to living in the best of two worlds!

Grew up in Poughkeepsie and, after an oddyssey all over the US, settled in Brookfield, CT (not far away) until we retired here in 2005. The Hudson Valley is an awesome place....
