First post - Thank you forum! You gave me the information to make the villages my new home.
Just purchased a CYV in the Calumet Grove area of the villages. The CYV was built in 2003 in Marion County. Any way of getting the plans for this home? Did they build 16" or 24" on center? Type of construction etc.?
Thank You

You might check with the current owners to see if they have documents to pass along related to the build of their villa. When we bought our new home in 2004, we were automatically given 10 large sheets of architectural type drawings. They include site plan, foundation specs, floor plan, truss plan, electrical etc.

I was wondering same about a former home, as we were going to replace
3/8" drywall with 1/2"
I bought a stud finder and was able to determine the stud spacing easily.
Also you should be able to access the codes for 2003 to see what the codes should have been.

Call the Warranty department. They are amazingly helpful in a lot of stuff like this.
The can help you match cabinets and tell you where things were sourced.
I bet they have blueprints of your kind and style of home.

Welcome to Talk of the Villages. I'd ask my realtor to help and/or (as another poster suggested) go through the previous owners as a starting point for your quest.
Also, I don't know how much help this MCBCC | Building | Locate Permits (http://www.marioncountyfl.org/building/locate_permit.aspx) site will be, but I hope it helps.

Went to Marion County site and had a lot of information, but no blueprints.
Did any one get blueprints when they passed on a new house? Talked to the sales agent and they are checking for me. Thanks again for all the help.

as the builder of a home one can request to get a set of construction drawings.
When I did mine it was $200 for a full set of drawings.
I suspect the warranty department would know if you can still request a set, but they most likely will not be free.

Just out of curiosity, why do you want to replace the 3/8" drywall with 1/2" drywall?
