After looking in on this site for a while (last 6 months), I decided to go ahead and get a user name.

I think it's great that the search function works, even though you're not a member here.

I have used it to find everything from lawn service to figuring out where I can let my dog poop on the lawn, if I ever decide to get a dog. lol

Yes, I have a bit of warped humor but seeing a lot of other posts it looks like I'm not the only one. :D

Welcome Teeitup!

We only joined this forum last week after lurking for well over a year. You should find lots of useful information and fantastic people on this site.

Enjoy!

I have already benefited greatly, from all of the information provided here.

Also laughed (and shook my head) many times, from reading everyone's posts.

I tend to be a bit more guarded about my privacy than some though.

While I have no qualms about anyone in this great place being weird/looney enough to try and cause problems, it is still the internet after all.

I could not agree more!

We too laugh when reading some of the posts or even viewing the webcams at the town squares, I just want to shout out and say you are being viewed by loads of people from ALL over the world!

I lurked since March, joined a few months ago, and then lurked some more...now that our LSV is coming up in a couple weeks, I am getting braver and posting a little bit, hopefully more as I get more comfortable. I agree that there is so much useful information here. I've read some of the posts that had me a bit nervous (especially the dog poop ones, as we have two dogs that poop!) but on the whole, so many people are friendly and helpful! I love the warped sense of humor, too!

Welcome. You are right about the Internet but as many say you rarely should believe anything you see on the Web unless it is from very reliable sources or just passes the common sense test.

There sometimes are questionable posts on TOTV but they are often easy to spot.

LOL

Your comment made me think of the commercial where the pretty young woman is going on a blind date with the "French model" dude.

"They can't put it on the internet if it's not true.". :D

I'm not really sure what you are referring to as "questionable," but I've certainly seen posts that makes my eyes roll and produces a desire to slap my forehead.

I began to feel like I was part of The Villages by lurking and posting on TOTV before I was able to actually move here permanently in April. I was so grateful for that feeling. So, yes, you certainly can view participating and posting on TOTV as part of the process of "becoming a Villager", even before you buy a house here. And then, it's as magnificent as everyone says it is when they hand you that Villages ID at the closing table.

:clap2:

I've seen more than a few of those.."I heard from a friend, who has a cousin, whose buddy mows lawns that"...... :D

Quite frankly though, I've also seen a lot of..."How dare you try to look behind the curtain or question the developers motives."

I respectfully reserve the right to formulate my own opinions, do my own research and determine what I believe is possible or plausible.

I was shocked, but pleasantly surprised, to see it still available.

It was actually my second choice, but figured that "Titup" might be misconstrued. :1rotfl:

Another welcome to those who have joined TOTV recently. This is a great forum for those thinking about moving to The Villages. Pulling up stakes and moving 1,000+ miles is kind of a scary thought, but getting so much information before hand about living in The Villages makes it not so scary...I like to be an informed consumer.

Welcome to all the new posters. Great forum with some very useful information and then again, some not so useful but usually humorous postings.
