The Daily Suns has the article about USF health system being so great here in TV but I don't know how. I have been trying to schedule an appointment with USF Health Gynecology (formerly Village Gynecology) and you cannot reach an operator. You are required to leave your name, birthdate, and phone number and they say they will get back with you and they never do. I have left e different messages on Wed., Thur. & Fri and no one returns any calls and haven't found any phone number to call to actually talk to someone.
Anyone else having problems with them? Sort of stuck with those Drs. that take your insurance........and unfortunately they are the one in this area that do. I have never had such a hard time getting a doctor than I have had here in TV.

Yeah, they have been on Buenos Aires Avenue when they were Village Gynecology and haven't moved since being changed to USF Health so it's not like they are new to the area. The Dr. is Dr. Sheedy and their web site talks about how much they care for their patients etc. When you can't get a hold of them and they don't return calls, not sure how they can say how caring they are.

Dr Steepy is wonderful. Sounds like they have a problem with their phone system.
Is this the number you have been calling?

USF Health Gynecology formerly Village GYN (http://villagegyn.com/)
Yes that is the number, both from phone book and their web site. It answers that it is them but it says that you cannot to talk anyone and leave a message at appropriate extension. It is maddening that no one returns calls and there is just no number you have to contact them other than the one listed. All you get is press 18, 11 or 10 (all of which I have used) for scheduling and 14 for nurse. They are your only options short of a phone number for an emergency doctor. She may be really good, but her office setup is lousy. There is no excuse and if they were moving their office or something, then there should be a message on their system saying they are moving and will not be taking any calls for such and such a period of time.

Try calling the USF people in Sumter and tell them. Maybe they can help. At least they should know about it.

Same thing happened to me. Change the last number in their phone number, I would assume there are more than that one number (having worked in business offices before). I got all their paper work to fill out, which I thought was way too much. Ended up finding a great GYN in Ocala.

That is exactly why I fired them as my gyno doc. Just went to her practice once then with a follow up back in 2012. Never could get in touch with them to find out about where they sent my script. I dislike that phone run around stuff! I also didn't like seeing a nurse practioner and folks at the front desk were rude to me by talking down to me by calling me "dear" and argued with me about my copay. I know exactly what my insurance pays etc. and I was right! I went to them because they were so highly recommended by folks here on TOTV. Glad others like her practice. It was not a good fit for me. I did a little research and found a much better doctor to fit my needs. Good luck to ya!

I agree a doctor is only as good as his/her support staff. We had a great Doctor for 10 years and when his head nurse and another key person on his staff suddenly left---our "Doctor" experience went south. I won't get into the "rumors" but will just say that it takes a team effort from the entire office in order to provide a great Doctor experience.
