Hi everyone,
I have been taking Mah Jongg lessons and am looking to join some ladies who play steady...I am still a newbie, please pm me if anyone is interested.

there is a newbie group on Thursday at Fish Hawk. Most rec centers list what type of players. Just go and you will learn a lot by playing with others.

Here is some other information a friend of mine supplied:

Tues.,noon at Laurel Manor;
Thurs.,9AM Fish Hawk; Fri.,10AM Chula Vista; Sun.,noon Chula Vista;
Sun.,6:30PM Coconut Cove-Those are all of the classes with lessons and basic
level games

Serious, adept, skillful, long playing ladies who play Mah Jong do NOT welcome beginners.

NO. Nada. Never. Don't try.

Get over it. Go somewhere else. Take a hike. Fageddabout it.

I never could get the hang of it.

Serious, adept, skillful, long playing ladies who play Mah Jong do NOT welcome beginners. NO. Nada. Never. Don't try. I never could get the hang of it.

Gracie is right, serious mahjongg players like to play hard and fast ... No funning around. But there are lots of us who play mahjongg for the social aspect. I think it is way more fun that way. I've been playing for five years, but I've never progressed past basic and I don't want to. If you take it too seriously, it's work, not fun.

However, before you play with a group, you need to learn basic skills and the best teacher IMHO is Joan DiCarlo who teaches around noon ... She is at Laurel Manor on Tuesdays and Chula Vista on Sunday.

Gracie, maybe you need to try it again. You used to spend all your time feeding us instead of playing! If you teach me Golf, I'll teach you Mahjongg.

Unfortunately Joan has had to "retire" Sadly her husband is too ill for her to leave him.

Joan has been back to Chula Vista when she can make it....I played w her last Sunday afternoon

Agree, I dont want to get involved w that I want to just have fun w the game

I agree with you bare, I have been taking lessons and only want to play for fun not in the rec centers playing hard and seriously...If anyone whats too play pm me....thanx, Lynn

Just a heads up, Tues at 12pm and Fri 1pm, there are open tables for anyone that wants to have fun and play open Mah Jongg.
