I just had a auto transported to The Villages and it went great.

WOW Shank Bros Auto Transport is great.

After another broker (Magic Carpet - see later comments) couldn't get my Jag transported to The Vlllages for a reasonable price I called Shank Bros to see if they could help me on a very short notice. I called them on Friday afternoon at about 1:30pm and they had transportation for me by 5:30 pm with insurance and transporters ratings verified. Transporter showed up on the next day at 11am as promised and had my Jag in Fl by Sunday at 10:30 pm. The transporter was first class and I was very happy with the choice John selected. Since I was concerned by my experience with Magic Carpet, Shank Bros also had a backup plan in place, to hold my car until pickup, in the event they couldn't find a transport. But, at the agreed price they felt confident they could find someone and wouldn't have to worry about a backup plan. They not only met my expectations but far exceeded. I would highly recommend this broker (John) to anyone who wants great service and a reliable shipment.

Their web site is:

You can check them out on auto transport review

Tell them Jerry recommended them if you have a car to be transported. BTW I have no association with them other then a being a very happy customer.

But believe me not all 5* rated carriers provide great service.
I originally had my Jag with Magic Carpet for almost 2 weeks. Their original quote was $650 > but when I tried to contact them to have them ship it they wouldn't return my call. After contacting the main office I got another broker who then quoted me $800. I accepted the quote and gave them a week to find a transporter and a additional 5 day window to have the car picked up. At 6pm before the last day of the requested pick up they called me and said they found a transporter but the price was now $975. At that point I told them I wanted to cancel since I felt they were jacking me up way beyond what I had originally been quoted. After waiting to the next day I contacted Shank Bros and Wow did they make it happen.

Just wrote to them, and told them you were singing their praises.I don't have a vehicle to transport but rather a 12ftx8inx8in awning I am trying to get down here from Philly area. Asked them if maybe they could throw it on a truck next time they are coming this way, for a reasonable fee. We'll see what they say. You might have helped me out considerably, since I have been wracking my brain over this. Thanks...

Not sure about cars, but I have used uship.com to get some items shipped to other states. Verified shippers bid downwards to get your business. There is a small fee, but I have had several good experiences with them.

Thanks Jerry. Have saved your info here. Thinking of having our Vette shipped down and more concerned with good service versus lowest bidder. Sounds like this broker is best of both. Appreciate your sharing

Where did you ship from? We are in Seattle and I was thinking it would cost a lot as when Boeing shipped our cars from Atlanta to Seattle they paid a lot. We have had our cars shipped every time we have moved so 8 times but it was always part of a corporate move. Usually it's ok but twice I had rub marks on the paint from tie down straps being put across the car so be carful to watch how they secure on the carrier. We are planning to rent a car for three months this winter but if we could ship for under a grand each way that would be cheaper.

Denise I'm pretty sure they only ship autos, they use auto carriers, but who knows?
TrudyM > I shipped from Upstate NY to Fl.
