getting off ivy "stickers"

I just pulled ivy off my concrete CYV wall. I want to patch and paint it but I can't get the "stickers" off. I tried a wire brush but that is not working. Any other ideas?

Hit the suckers with a bernzomatic torch and then brush with wire brush and they should come off. Then paint.
