I am just a wannabee, and I am not trying to "stir the pot" but the monthly TOTV luncheon at TOTV is not really trying to promote Crispers, but the location is a good place for TOTV posters to meet if they wish. It is a pretty central location in The Villages.

I have attended two TOTV lunches, and I have really enjoyed meeting the faces behind the names. I didn't really think a lot about the location of the meeting.

And I hope to be at the October 18 meeting as I will be in TV then. Just my two cents, and not meant to ruffle any feathers. Hope you all enjoy yourselves on Friday! :wave:

This wannabee has thoroughly enjoyed meeting the "faces behind the words" at the two TOTV lunches I have attended. Enjoy the lunch on 9/20! I will be with you in spirit. I may attend the October 18 lunch when I am in TV.

Since I have been reading this forum and well before, TOTVrs have been meeting at Crispers on the the third Friday of every month at three and that is seven or eight years now. Many posters were in the first bunch to meet at Crispers; Barefoot, SamHass, Chelsea, RokinRonda, Redwitch,KathieI F16, Brightspot, and many more, some have even passed on. It is always special to see people that you have exchanged ideas with on this forum, sometimes this was our very first connection to The Villages. .

Oh Gracie, your post really took me back in time. I met some of my dearest friends at Crispers TOTV lunches. Dear Donna was one of the original organizers in 2007, and sadly she has passed over. She is much missed by us all, and especially by KathieI, they were very close friends.

Over the years Crispers has been very cooperative to welcome our TOTV group on the third Friday of every month. Crispers is in The Southern Trace Plaza on CR 466. I hope to be back in TV in time to attend the November meeting.

As my husband is coming to TV without me :undecided: (my choice I know) he shall be in TV during the time the TOTV meeting in October so perhaps he can pop in and say hello and put some faces with the names of all the fantastic people we chat with on this forum. We have spoken to our Agent, and Solicitors today so our move may be taken place quicker than we expected! So just maybe I will get to meet everyone in November, fingers crossed. Hope everyone has a good time at this next TOTV meeting at Crispers :wave:

The owners of this forum from time to time have sent ambassadors to the Crispers meetings with little surprises. Not every time but once in awhile.

The Crispers meetings are legendary. They were started by a group of posters on TOTV many years ago and with the help of many different hosts and hostesses over time have continued.

ALL are welcome to this informal group, no reservations are needed, just show up at three at Crispers on the third Friday of the month. Someone will give you a name tag and mostly we meet on the outside patio. Some buy lunch, most buy cold drinks. (no liquor sold there) and we usually sit in a circle and introduce ourselves and chat. Many warm smiles and hugs and belly laughs happen. We have had as few as five and as many as fifty over time.

I don't think we will be able to be there this week but people who you have never met, but know well from reading their posts will be there.

I'm very bothered by this thread. I don't understand how bad the comments are that so many had to be deleted by our Moderator. This is very sad because this Crispers luncheon was set up as a meet and greet by many of our original TOTV members and we never had any disagreements on how and when this should take place. All we cared about was meeting each other and having fun. We should all get back to this attitude and let's let this Moderator go back to enjoying his life.

To give you an example of how this was all set up, here are some links from back in '07 or '08 regarding the formation of Crispers lunch. So let's go back to enjoying ourselves and join in on the Crispers monthly luncheon.

Kathie, I don't think there were nasty posts. I think Mod was talking about innacurate posts--i.e., not being able to mention businesses (which is allowed unless you're self-promoting). I think he was just setting the record straight. As to off-topic, I've been following this particular thread from the start, and I don't remember much of that either. :shrug:
