We are considering buying a golf cart from them because we think the enclosure is better. Anyone bought from them? Pluses or cons?

In my Humble opinion, you'll find a great product backed with experienced Owner & support staff.
take a look at the website for the "carts and clubs advantage".

After seeing that ( especially the sunbrella enclosure) and compare it to the competition.

You'll be glad you did!

Haven't been there and haven't heard anything negative about his products, in fact have heard glowing reports on his wiring, but have heard that he wants to give you his business spiel without interruption or questions... and is kinda....brusque?

What is it with this style of selling? Not to my liking.

Someone said a landscaper who advertises a lot on this forum has sort of the same style. I guess you could call it confidence.

Or you could call it Ray.

We bought both of our golf carts from Carts and Clubs and have been extremely pleased.

We were given a heads-up on the different enclosures on golf carts and how much difference it makes to have a good one. Ted and Connie were excellent to deal with and followup is great. Ted is decent and honest and for us, that is the key.

We bought our cart at Carts and Clubs and have been pleased with the purchase experience, the cart, the service. A recommendation from a friend was what had us take a look there...and soon we noticed that three of our neighbors had also purchased their new gas carts from Carts and Clubs. We all bought about the same time!

We bought from him as well. Very happy with our purchase. As sales people ourselves, we enjoy when someone sells their product to us by telling us all about it. He did go on and on but to me, that's your job. I like to hear how your product is better than your competition. As far as stopping him to ask questions or to comment along the way, we had no problems what so ever.

I can only speak from our experience. It can vary with others just as the weather does.

We just bought new cart seats from this dealer. They had the seats we wanted at the best price. We went to several places before we bought at Carts and Clubs. I'm pretty sure we will buy our next cart from them. They have full service for The Villages and their prices were much better than the other stores. We found them to be very courteous.

As to the "business spiel".... I LOVE it! I make no secret that I post for Mansfield Landscaping. Steve Mansfield is one who wants to tell you about his business before you buy. There are NO surprises. You know up front what you are getting, how much it will cost, the time it will take to implement the plan, and how to take care of the products he sells. If you don't have time to listen, or don't want to hear it, maybe these are not businesses you want to frequent. You don't see his plants dying around The Villages.

Steve has been in this business for over 20 years, he knows what he is talking about. He most often will answers all your questions in his "spiel" If he waited for you to ask the question.... Or if you forget to ask the question, and he then forgets to tell you something, 1. it will take twice as long, and 2. you won't have all the information to make an informed choice in landscaping.

If you don't have time to listen to them when you buy, you certainly won't listen to them about how to care for the their products.

Sorry to veer from Carts and Clubs. Yeah Carts and Clubs! They have my support as well! We will absolutely be going back to them for our cart purchases.

Purchased ours from them last December. Today we get our annual service for $24. So far we have had no issues and we love the enclosure with the zipper pulls that make it easier to close up when needed.

Thank you so much for all the comments. They helped us to make up our minds. We are going to buy our cart at Carts and Clubs.
We dealt with the owner, Ted. He is a no nonsense business person. I would rather deal with someone like Ted who knows what he is talking about and is honest than some sweet talking salesman who tries to talk me into something I don't want and acts as if he knows what he is talking about - all with a smile on his face - I have dealt with enough of those.
We were really impressed with Ted's knowledge and emphasis about safety.
We visited the showroom twice and probably have spent more than 2 hours with him.
We are closing on our house at the end of the month and will buy our cart as long as the man who is selling us his house shows up for closing. He keeps threatening not to sell it us - yikes!

Can't go wrong with Ted and his crew. Bought mine new in August 2012. If you need service or just an answer to a question, "Connie" (Teds wife) will answer the phone and she knows her stuff. One thing they do that I don't think anyone else does; the engine compartment is surrounded (except underneath of course) by insulating material that really cuts down on the engine noise. Well worth the drive to Ocala.

I spoke to Ted yesterday. No pretense, just good upfront advice, my kind of guy.
He said they still have 3 non-EFI models in stock, for $500 less than the EFI models. But, we may just decide on an EFI as the 3 will likely be gone before we order.
He said the big problem for us buying from a distance is selection of Sunbrella colors to match our needs. We checked on-line on the Sunbrella Web-site but he said the on-line colors may not be quite what the finished product looks like. However, he has said he can send us some pictures of some carts in the color we want with a variety of Sunbrella enclosures.
He says they sell 98% of their carts in the Villages and have 3 repair wagons at the Villages on a daily basis. The turn around for a service call is usually 24hours and service is at your home, a biiiig plus!.
It looks like we will be going with Carts and Clubs too.

Fabulous cart. So many extras compared to The Villages. Plus it's so much quieter, they insulate the engine.

After shopping all around for a few months, I found Carts and Clubs to be Head a Shoulders above the rest. Not only in their modifications of the Yamaha Golf cart but also their enclosures were also modified just right. They have superior knowledge of their product and everyone there is very helpful.
I give them an A+

We also bought from Carts and Clubs when we were down a few weeks ago to purchase a home. Was Ted confident? Yes Was he knowledgeable? Definitely. What really sold us is they have a golf cart purchased from The Villages Golf Cart store that in their showroom to clearly explain the difference between his enclosure and modifications. I have been in sales most of my career - he never once bashed the competition, but he did point out the facts. It was a no brainer for us. I did pause for a second when he assumed my husband's name would go on the driver's side of the cart. He quickly caught his error and we had a good laugh.

We bought there in July. They are the best to deal with. Enclosure much better than the Villages offer.

We bought our cart last year from them and have been VERY pleased Ted knows his stuff and the differences in the enclosure make all the difference in the world. Ted was so proud of his product and took much time with us to explain everything very well. Love the cart and Carts and Clubs! We referred a friend to them and when they ought he sent us a $50 restaurant gift cert. to thank us.

Carts and clubs have a price list that they hand out. Is there any negotiations on the price or is it a take it or leave it transaction?

Or you could call it arrogance or a possible personality disorder (had a less than pleasant experience with a certain landscaper who operates under the same modus operandi...)

Yes, Gracie . . . Mansfield does the same thing. When we were considering choosing a landscaper, I spoke to him three times and each time I had to listen to his sermon. I couldn't even interrupt him. I requested certain shrubs and and without going into a long dissertation, he virtunally insulted me as though I didn't know what I was talking about (and I most certainly did!).

Yes, people who rant and rave are very annoying. In the case of Mansfield, we went elsewhere and definitely made the right choice.
