This afternoon we had to have our Maltepoo, Daisy of 15 years put down. No other options. She was a very loving little dog and will be dearly missed.

I'm so sorry. Giving your loving pet relief from it's pain takes courage and causes a lot of pain. I hurt for you.

So sorry for your loss. I believe that has to be one of the hardest decisions in life to make. But know you did the right thing. It is probably one of the greatest gifts we can give our pets....to alleviate their lingering on and suffering.

So sorry about Daisy. Its a terrible day when you need to make that decision. I've been there so many times before, I can't count the amount so I can sympathize. Try to remember all the good times with her. RIP Daisy, you will be missed.
So sorry for your loss. Hardest thing to do is letting them go. Try to remember the happy times.

So sorry to hear of the loss of your little sweetie. We had our malipoo put down last fall. 13 years of a loving little ball of fluff. They are the best and smartest dog. Take time to grieve and know that Daisy knew she was loved all the way to the end.

Thank you so much everyone for your thoughts. I apologize as somehow, I posted this last night twice, the first I placed in the wrong area (not sure where I put it???) and the moderator moved it for me. We are thankful we had Daisy for as long as we did, although it feels very strange today, I know it will get better. She is now in a better place. Thanks to all.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I know that it tears a little chunk out of my heart when I lose a pet. Knowing that you made the best decision for your beloved Daisy doesn't make the emptiness go away. But I truly believe our pets are waiting for us on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge.

So sorry about your loss--I had to put my toy poodle Chloe to sleep in April--she was 16 and I still miss her so much--we have our multi/poos Sugar and Spice and they do keep us busy all of the time.
I noticed in talk of the villages that Abby a multi-poo needs a home--it my be to soon but her picture is so cute--she is 8--you may want to look over the posts and go a visit her--it is so comforting when you can add another doggie to your family
take care Susan

So sorry for the loss of your beloved Daisy. She will always hold a special place in your hearts. In time you will heal and find another special animal who needs a home. Take time to grieve, you'll know when it's right to open another door to a pet in need of a home.

I could never have understood your pain until we put down our Bichon last week. The tears have flowed freely since. We only had him 6 years since we rescued him. Being only 10 years old made it even more difficult as we thought we would have him much longer.

So sorry about your Daisy----- Know it is hard as we had to make that decision years ago with our Maxie Dog----but it was the right decision and made because we loved him so very much and didn't want him to suffer. Know you will smile when you think about her--we still do --remembering all of our Maxie Dog's antics and all the love he gave us in return.

Please accept my sympathies. Your dog was a lucky Bichon to be rescued by people who loved him so much. Since he was only ten years old, it must have come as such a shock to you. I understand your pain, each time we lose a beloved dog, a chunk of our heart goes also.
Dogs are family members and they love unconditionally. They light up with joy every time their humans walk through the door. When the time is right, I hope you will adopt another rescue puppy. I am so sorry for your loss.

So sorry to hear of your loss. We had two rescue dogs that died recently and we understand what you are going through. They're like your children. Remember all of the good memories.

I'm very sorry for the loss of your Daisy. Our hearts ache when we have to make that decision. Of course you will miss her, but you know you did what was best for her. And isn't that part of the responsibility we take on when we add these loves to our lives?

Barbob, also very sorry to hear of your Bichon last week. It is a terrible emptiness. Let the tears flow and allow yourself to grieve. It has already been several months and I still want to go to let her out or fill her dish with fresh water, and nothing is around anymore. I will tell you it does get a bit easier but it is still very lonely without her. My condolences. Still no rescue for us yet, but probably someday. Take care.

Thank you Linda and everyone who has offered feelings not only for Daisy but to me too for our loss. I too still look for him and tear up when I see his picture or things around the house that remind me. But because I see that others understand makes me realize we are not alone.

Barbob,
Just this year, for the first time ever, I brought out the paw print ornament made when our golden retriever Bear died in 2007. It had been in our coat closet in MI till we moved to FL this summer. Even though we only waited two months to get another golden, for whom I am joyful, it still takes a long time to get over a special pet. You will come to treasure the pictures and other reminders of Daisy, and they will make you smile, but it may take some time.
