This is my first Christmas at The Villages. To celebrate the holidays with family I've invited my two daughters 24 & 27 to visit for the week during Christmas.
Any suggestions of what it's like at The Villages during Christmas and some special events that take place that might be of interest to them. Also what is the weather like ? Thanks for the suggestions and information it will help to plan things that we can all do that will be fun. Thanks.:duck::duck::laugh::laugh:

Many people decorate just like up north. The newspaper provides a map with some of the best spots to visit (some time during December). We never decorated outside up north with all the snowy weather, but do here. There is the Christmas parade at the polo field and the Christmas tree lighting at the squares.

Visit AAA for some away places. You could join in on a bus trip or travel yourself (just get the ideas from their day trips). I found one of the best kept secrets is Bok Tower in Lake Wales. They have a house on the property. The businesses or groups get together and have a contest decorating each room. It is glitzy. Another place to visit is the Stetson Mansion in Deland. It has been restored and the rooms and what they have done is way over the top. Wait, I guess you wouldn't call it restored as it is modern mixed with old. Every year they change it.

Of course the theme parks are all decorated up too.

Thanks so much for your tips. They are great, I'm sure my daughters will love these ideas. They sound perfect !!

If you can deal with the crowds, Disney Studios has the Osborne Family Lights - well worth the cost of admission just for them!

Universal has parts of the Macy's parade shipped down and the Grinchmas show is one of the best theme park shows anywhere.

On Campus, Christmas is a bit disappointing only in that the musical groups, both vocal and instrumental are not presenting their talents. Many go away at Christmastime.

However for those people who have lived here long enough to have made friends, there is a bunch of home parties and get togethers. I think we will be here and you all are invited to our party. Date and time to be decided.

The newspaper will give the details about the Christmas Parade at the Polo Fields. You can drive there in your golf cart. It's kind of a fun thing to do the first year you live in TV. The weather is unpredictable, some years you can swim on Christmas Day, other years you'll want to wear a fleecy.

And, remember to have lots of wrapping paper for the cats to play in whenever you do presents!

Everyone has been so sweet with their replies I know I'm going to love the villages. Gracie thanks for the offer may just take you up on that one if my girls are good with it otherwise we'll get together when they leave. I already looked up The Stetson Mansion and that looks fantastic.
Thank you again.
