Anyone have a french door fridge in an Amarillo? The wife wishes to know if there is a problem with opening the freezer door with the island being so close. can you stand between the island and the fridge and comfortably open the doors and or the freezer drawer? Thanks.

I assume you mean the side by side fridge. When we first moved here, we had a Stetson which is the same as the Amarillo. No problem at all with the fridge opening. Plenty of room.

No I am speaking of a French door refrigerator. They have two doors on top and a large drawer freezer on the bottom. She is concerned about opening the bottom door into the island. Thanks!

We have a Sun Kissed - same as Amarillo - and have a refrigerator with the large freezer door on the bottom... NO PROBLEM.

We have French door fridge, and no problem with counter at all. Fits well. Also have freezer pullout on bottom, and everything is fine. You can bank on buying one, and feel happy

We have a 22 cf LG w/single door and freezer on bottom. 23 inches room with freezer door fully open. You'll be fine.

It has been my experience to measure and measure. Measure the space you plan to put the appliance and measure the space required for the actual appliance you plan to put there.
Friends bought a new appliance without doing above. They failed to allow for the new counter tops. That one half inch was a deal breaker.
