Couple looking for other couple for social bridge

We have been playing almost a year. Mostly duplicate, but would like to find others to play with a little less stress. I would be a nicer game if it was fun and less serious.

unless you happen to meet compatible neighbors who play compatible bridge, is to go to the rec centers, especially to ones that are designated "couples bridge." and play for a few weeks. Couples bridge here just means same partner throughout the night, but not duplicate. Some couples will be be 2 women or 2 men, but many will be husband/wife.

Start collecting names, phone #s and email addresses of those you think you may be interested in playing with. Some may already have their own private groups and may ask you to sub. Once you sub in one group, you tend to get asked to sub in others. If no one seems to be in a group, just ask them over to play some evening.

Lots of us (women, anyway) play at both rec centers and private groups, but we mostly met or formed our private groups from people we met at various rec center bridge groups.

Also, you might try the Wed. afternoon duplicate at Paradise - I haven't tried it yet, but heard it's less stressful than other duplicate groups here. It's non-sanctioned. There are also lots of private duplicate groups around, most probably got started the same way.

Doctor A, My husband and I played bridge up north and would like to play down here. He still goes back to Ohio for a week or 10 days each month. We live in Amelia so it would be convenient for us. Please let us know if you would like to get together.
