Hi; just closed on my CYV yesterday and will be heading to the villages for the last 2 weeks in October. I am John, and my wife is Diane. We are from Rocky Hill Connecticut and have been visiting the Villages over the last 4 years and staying with family for short visits. We've come close to buying before, but could never pull the trigger due to concerns for carrying costs. We are about 5 years away from retiring and in August finally took the salesmen at their word that "you will be able to rent your home to cover carrying costs" and took the plunge. We are VERY happy that we finally bought and only regret that we have to wait many years to finally enjoy the lifestyle that has my brother in law smiling 24/7 from cheek to cheek. Looking forward to meeting some nice people in a couple of weeks.

Thanks
John

Hi, John,
We welcome to TV. I am sure you will be thrilled to be in your new home even if it is only part time. We rent our home in Tamarind Grove also and the rental has been consistant and was easy to find through a management company. More info if you want to PM me. Congrats to you and Dianefor taking the big step. Now you can start counting the days til you are full time!

Hi John, Hope you can get to your new home in Tamarind Grove often before you retire and may those 5 years whiz by. It is good for this wannabee to know that another wannabee has become a snowflake.

Here is a coincidence. We moved into Tamarind Grove in July 2011 in a new CYV at the time. Our next door neighbors, who were from Connecticut, had 7 years to retire at the time. We would see them every 3 months like clockwork, they would stay for a week and usually made some sort of improvement to their CYV. Last March they decided they wanted a bigger CYV, they listed their 2BR CYV and sold it in just two days. They bought a larger 3BR CYV in Sanibel and probably now have about 5 years to retirement. It's such a parallel story to yours that at first I thought you were my old neighbors. However, his name was not John but mine is.

Hey John: thanks for the info. quite a coincidence, small world. Another coincidence is that my wife also talks about selling the villa and buying a designer when we finally do move in. Looks like we may follow the same path as your neighbor. Who knows to early to tell.

Hey George, Man i do admire you and what you've set up and the lifestyle you lead. You're my idol.... Wish I had followed your example and gotten into state work, then I too would have a perpetual smile on my face by now.

Hey Schaumburger: I got a feeling these will be the longest 5 years of my life since I will be counting down the days. Hope I don't give into temptation and retire earlier than 5 years.
