I just have to tell you about a situation that occurred this week that really made me think (as a trusting Villager).

A friend passed away, and the home needed to be cleaned for an estate sale. Checked out the Daily Sun classified and found an cleaning service with a persons name (DBA Absolute Cleaning Service). Wow! I just happened to google the name of the person and I could not believe the information found (sorry but I won't post the name but its easy to see in the ad). If you are thinking of letting anyone in your home please check out the internet. It just might save you from troubles in the future!

I normally do not post things like this, but do a little looking to protect yourself and your property.

Looks like her transgressions with the law (minor drug & paraphernalia charges) all happened in early 2012. Perhaps she's started this business trying to turn over a new leaf & get her life in order. I would be tempted to call her just to see how she presented herself over the phone. I would ask for references, and since she mentions in her ad that she is "insured" I would ask her about that also. If she passes these preliminary tests I would request that she come to give me an estimate, and I would schedule it for 8am sharp....no later. If she shows up on time & looks considerably better than her mug shots & presents herself in a professional manner I might consider hiring her, but only under close supervision. Some people DO deserve a second chance.

However, I would not take the risk. Maybe someone will give a positive referral here?

Thanks for the heads up. You are so right. I had something similar this week happen to me with a new dentist I made an appointment with. Found out he just spent the last 3 years in prison!

I think I know of whom you speak! He was just "given" to me as I had a an app't pre-made 6 mo. before (I'd been a patient there already). He was presented to me as new to their practice. When I got home I googled his name for another reason and that information came up. Maybe, he's trying to get things right in his life but MAN that was something to put a red-flag up to. BTW...he's not the primary "owner" of the practice. Don't want to name names here even though the information is "out there"!!!

This interested me because I have a cleaning business up north. As a fluke I googled my name just to see what it would say. To my surprise they said I had an arrest record and had been arrested twice. I have never been arrested in my life.

For a fee of $60 I could find out what I was supposedly arrested for, but choose not to know seeing as I'm innocent.

Knowing, if my name is googled and an arrest record comes up concerns me because its not correct information. I wonder what, if anything I can do to change this? I'm definitely going to investigate this further.

After searching my name with false results causes me to question the validity of google searches.

Oh my, I will be up all night knowing my good name is being slandered.

Good Heavens! That is very shocking. I know you must be very frustrated and angry. If that isn't slander what is, Tippyclubb.

As for the issue of the thread, I am sure that I would not knowingly hire someone to enter my home who is a law breaker. I make no apologies for that. That is just asking for trouble.

As Dr. Phil often says; "The best predictor of future behavior, is past behavior".

I know how horrible that can be...
Heres what happened to me..
My dearest parents gave me the wonderful name of Donna Lynn Kennedy..
Well all these years before goggle, I thought I was the only one with that name...yeah thought I was unique....you know "One in a Million"
Anyway, I had applied for a job on line all systems go then they call and retrack the offer with out any explaination. It was a mystery to me..Then an associate of theirs hinted for me to goggle my name
Well I goggled my name... OMG a mugshot of another Donna Lynn Kennedy.
She is in Florida around my age but we look 100% different.
plus several obituaries for others all within ages of 58 -60
Then on Facebook there is also another Donna Lynn Kennedy, attractive but not me LoL
I guess we were all named after Donna from The Donna Reed show.
My mom almost named me Kendra...Kendra Kennedy hummm
MY older handsome brother RIP was named Kenneth Kennedy..

LoL I am very talkative today
