Last year I had friends here for TV's parade, who wanted to make it an annual event. Sad to hear the Grinch stole the parade.

anyway, here's a local parade, in Wildwood, with a food donation entry fee, I hope TV will have a bunch of entries....

anybody know of other parades in outlying areas??

I was here as a renter last year and was AMAZED at how profusely lavish decorations are. My church, Grace Tabernacle, does an extravagant holiday program that they say draws crowds. Anybody know of a living nativity with children and animals? (Oh dear we haven't even done the fall hayride and bobbed apples yet..)

Bogie, that's the 2012 parade date. If it were this year the 10th would be a Tuesday..

Yep, that is correct, last years date. However, I sent an email to Districtgov.org asking about the page and got this reply:

We are updating the lifestyle events portion of our website and should have that completed by week’s end. The Annual Christmas Parade will take place at the Polo Fields on Saturday December 14, 2013. Applications for participation will be available early November.

Not sure where you heard; "Sad to hear the Grinch stole the parade." (Guess that's how rumors get started)

That too is not true. The Italian-American parade is today Oct 8 at 3:30PM at Spanish Springs. Also German-American parade on October 22nd. More infor: http://www.districtgov.org/images/RecCalendar.pdf

Speaking of the Grinch (the patron saint of budget analysts everywhere), do catch Grinchmas at Universal during the holiday season. Latest incarnation of the show is one of the best theme park shows. They also have some of the Macy's balloons.

Also, Disney Hollywood Studios has the Osborne Family lights (yes, all of you Memphis refugees, *that* Osborne Family Lights). You have to see it to believe it.

The German-American Parade is a lot of fun to watch.

Of course, the Christmas Parade at the Polo Field is the best of all. It is best to come in your golf cart. Takes quite a while to get out after the parade but it is amazing to see the thousands of golf carts with thousands of happy Villagers.
