Just stopped in this afternoon to get our dinner for tonight to go. So happy to see the owner - who was manning the chop station this afternoon. As always, delicious pork ribs - truly smoked.. pink inside from great smoking... I chose the butter peas (yum) and their sweet potato casserole (his Mom's recipe)... beautifully topped with brown sugar and pecans. Chose the corn bread to complete our dinner. Hubby chose the smoked turkey with butter peas and scalloped potatoes (I had a sample - delicious too). He also snuck in a huge piece of homemade cake for late tonight...

I had a few ribs as a snack when we got home... So happy to be back in TV and enjoying fabulous, true BBQ... If you haven't tried it - give them a whirl. This is not web ribs (there are several bottles of sauce on the stands if you need the wet).. These are beautifully smoked chicken, sausage, turkey and pork. Inside and outside dining - but this is a BBQ place - paper plates and forks... but there is none better in our opinion.

I bought a pound of pulled pork at the take-out window on the side of the restaurant. At home, I made my own sandwiches with hot sauce and cole slaw, the way I like it. A whole pound was only $8.50 and it made several large sandwiches. This was EXCELLENT pulled pork, not dry and stringy, but moist and delicious. I will certainly be a repeat customer!

I went there when they first opened and the ribs were so overcooked the bones were as soft as the ribs it was terrible! Sorry went back once never again.

With almost 2000 new homes being built right across the street looks like Burkes picked a great spot.

Seems like they picked a great location with all those new homes going in right across the street.

There is another Thread that documented several start-up problems with Burke's BQ. A lot of people were disappointed the first couple of months they were open. We went three times the first two months and were very disappointed.

I believe most of the problems were just lack of experience in the Restaurant business. Hopefully, they have learned from their early mistakes. We may have to give them another try.
