Well we settled on our new home in the Village of Charlotte today. So excited and happy. We are officially Villagers. Hoping to meet lots of people and make new friends.

Here's a questions. We already received in our mailbox an envelope with a card that says we will get a $25 gift certificate to either Bonifay or Evans Prairie after we fill out the card and return to Robar Marketing. Is this for real or just marketing from a vendor in the area. I am thinking we should not do this or we will be bombarded with solicitors. Am I correct ?

Two things -

First, BIG welcome. We have a home in Gilchrist but are still part-timers.

Second - YES, don't fill it out. We were warned about it so didn't. But we did meet the lady with the huge basket of goodies. About an hour after she leaves, your phone will start rinigng and will continue for days .

Don't do it. They want to test your water. Watch your phone calls that say they are the welcome wagon. No such thing. it's all a sales pitch for things that you probably don't need.

Welcome from one newbie to another! We closed on Monday and we too are in the Village of Charlotte. I was told not to fall for any free offers. I've heard the soliciting can be brutal for new home owners.

Welcome ~ you WILL be bombarded with those offers, all of which are just an effort to sell you their products, most if not all of which you do not need : )

The worst is water purification. Know what it is all about, we paid $378. For our whole house system. Some have paid in the thousands. Be aware.
