Why? What does that mean?

Parent company which owns both Sweetbay and Winn Dixie is changing the name. Winn Dixie has a member card that can be used at gas stations for discounts. OP is surmising that the member card will follow in the ex-Sweebay stores as well. Time will tell.

Why not just open up as "Winn Dixie"? I take it that, Sweetbay has nothing to do with Hannaford's anymore?

I disagree with this decision. I would have changed the Winn Dixie stores to Sweetbay. IMHO Winn Dixie is a lower end grocery store. I'll stick to Publix.

I'm sure many agree with you, but I also think quite a few (including my wife) feel otherwise.

I'm afraid to admit that I sometimes shop at Sav-A-Lot. Are the Twinkies from Sweetbay better than ones from Winn-Dixie?

really like to shop at sweetbay and will have to get used to winn dixie. have tried w/d and was not imporessed, but their stores and fixtures were old......the 2 swbay stores here are clean and modern so i guess it will not be such a transition.

I can't see why everyone can't just shop where they prefer . I will still love all y'all.

Fine, but everyone seems to want to shop at Puhlix.
P.S.,I don't agree that Winn Dixie is a lower grade store. I love Winn Dixie, but there isn't one anywhere near me.

It would appear that Winn-Dixie has a public perception problem. Trouble is that this is usually the reflection of a real problem.
