I have just loved reading the post about whether people love white kitchen cabinets or not. (https://www.talkofthevillages.com/forums/village-kitchen-121/does-everybody-like-white-kitchen-cabinets-90194/). Mostly I have loved seeing pictures of other people's kitchens. I think it would be really fun if you guys would share some more pictures of your kitchens. Old, new, remodeled... whatever. I am moving there soon. Need to do a little work on my kitchen, just not sure what yet - or if I want to do anything at all??!!! It would be a great service to this newbie! So post those pictures folks!

Did our kitchen. Added an island, granite, floors, still need to replace the appliances. Will do as soon as any one of them dies. Probably do stainless, but still undecided on that.

The next photos are of our rental home where we painted the pink cabinets gray, replaced the granite, and did a new back splash.

Never mind. Pictures must have been too large. Will try again later. Want to show new SLATE appliances. They do not show fingerprints at all

We have the white cabinets that are vinyl covered, and if you have the coffee pot or toaster under them, they peel away from the heat. Just a wake up call on white cabinets.

My only warning: When you have s/s appliances be careful because if
you get a ding, sometimes difficult to remove..Need to use hair dryer and dry ice for removal

We have the Camellia model. So when we started we did not have the tiered cabinets. Had Formica counter tops and the small creme colored tile.
We put in glass front tiered cabinets. Moved the ones we replaced to the laundry room. We did granite counters and back splash. Tore out all the tile in the house and but in 20 X 20. Tiled the front of the bar. And of course the thing we get the comments on added the double ceiling fan. Also in the wasted corner of the Camellia and Gardenia we built cabinets for that area.

This is the only picture that isn't too large to post. It shows the new slate appliances by GE. No fingerprints is a real plus.

Can't tell from the picture - does it have the same sheen as stainless?

It has a brushed metal look. Go here to see the web site.

We have white cabinets in our house up north. After 10 years the ones opposite the windows turned a slight yellow tinge from the sun.

It looks very nice! From the picture I could not get some details, like :
Did you expand the kitchen into the breakfast area?
I am not retired yet and remodeling the kitchen is one of my goals because I looooove to cook (and taking pictures of all) and plan to have dine/wine with friends at our place a lot.
I grew up with tiles on the kitchen floor, but it does look nice in hardwood. Congratulations.

Did our kitchen. Added an island, granite, floors...(snip)
Looks lovely! What model home is that? I thought it was a Gardenia/Camelia, because of the pillars, but kitchen has stove and refrig in different location, and there seems to be a window to the right of the slider in the livng room, that we don't have. Perhaps it is an older version? Ours was bulit in 2013.

We are getting ready to change our laminate counter tops to granite. Several quotes and many hours of reading posts here regarding fabricators, and we haven't decided yet who to use! LOL Who did you use for your granite?

Thanks!

The model is a Gardenia that was expanded 4 feet through the middle of the home, so their was room to add the island and the extra cabinets into the kitchen dining area. In those pictures, the island looks a lighter color then the rest of the cabinets, but it really isn't. In person they all look the same. The floor is an engineered hardwood. That expansion also changed the configuration of the laundry room and I did the same cabinets in there with a pantry and vanity type sink and overhead cabinets.

In both homes the granite was done by Duncan Stone in Tavares. And if I was doing another home with granite, I would use them again. That entire kitchen has only one seam in the granite and that is because the piece between the refrigerator and the end of the dining area was 12 feet and the slabs come in 10 foot lengths.

White cabinets were "in" during the 90s. Went out of fashion and are now "in" again. The white cabinets in TV are thermafoil. I would research them before deciding. We had them years ago and they do peel from heat and do yellow as previously posted. They may have been improved over the years.
