We just discovered the Southern Cotillion in Wildwood. Delicious and definitely worth a try if you love southern cooking! Directly across street from the Courthouse.:a040:

That is a great resource Bogie, thanks for posting it. :)

Now you can search (http://thevillagesgourmetclub.com/search.html) for all the restaurants within 30 miles that got, say, 12 or more Stars (out of 15) and it came up with 77 restaurants. Wow! Most of the highly rated ones (rated by the real club members) were the ones mentioned above. I still have a lot to try. (I love their site.)

Have to add Hollywood Cafe in Wildwood, a few doors away from Southern Cotillion. Great NY style deli with the best homemade soups!

Have to add one. O'Shucks Oyster Bar looks like a dump, but it's a very clean, family-run little restaurant. Fresh oysters, shucked to order; good wings, great burgers and fries, cold beer, what's not to love? It is located on 301, just south of where it crosses 44, in Wildwood. If you're driving south you have to make a U-turn to get into the parking lot. Give it a try for lunch, I guarantee you'll be back for dinner.

I too love raw oysters but have stopped for awhile. This crazy salt water virus.....................31 in Fla. infected by bacteria in salt water - NBC News.com (http://www.nbcnews.com/health/31-fla-infected-bacteria-salt-water-8C11379013)
State health officials say there are two ways to contract the disease: by eating raw, tainted shellfish — usually oysters — or when an open wound comes in contact with bacteria in warm seawater.

One of the best run eating places, with always decent Ohio food and nice servers is Bob Evans. Went tonight, and had The Farmer's Choice; perfectly cooked eggs over easy, sausages, hash browns, and a blueberry crepe for 8.49.
Sweetie got his free with the coupon.
Helene had a really fresh salad with their yummy poppy seed dressing and a burger for 7.99.
The server brought us two carafes of coffee, three glass containers of cream and three containers of warm syrup. We didn't ask for extras.
The food was hot and perfectly cooked, and it was served by a very nice woman named Jenny.
Not gourmet but satisfying and not expensive. Just right for a Wednesday night in The Villages with pleasant temperatures all day today.

Oh dear. We both love raw oysters and we were planning a trip to O'Shucks as soon as we arrive in The Villages. Normally I don't pay much attention to "gloom and doom" news. But this recent article makes me think that eating raw oysters may not be a great idea right now.

Went to Hollywood Café in Wildwood per an earlier suggestion. Good food. Small old fashioned deli. DH said his ham sandwich was great. It's a nice change from some of the fancier establishments we've become accustomed to.
Parking is in the back and the bakery is only a few doors away. We'll be back. Good to see some small businesses coming back to Wildwood.
