we have been considering a fire pit, t & d and others offer some very nice looking ones. Has anyone had any experience with them? We are rethinking this and wondering just how often it would be used and just how long does the propane tank last etc. what is your experience, thanks

We are rethinking this and wondering just how often it would be used and just how long does the propane tank last etc. what is your experience, thanksWe have one made by O.W. Lee in California. It has a propane-powered firepit for the chillier weather. Then in warmer weather, you remove the rocks (you can get either artificial logs or rocks) and replace them with a matching Lazy Susan that covers the fire pit area. With the flames set at "medium", we get about 8-9 hours from a propane tank. The O.W. Lee products have a door on the side to open and then flip down a really well-designed rack for the tank, saving any struggle to replace them.

Our fire pit is one of the best outdoor investments we've ever made. We've seen lots of firepits, but none stacks up to the design and quality of the O.W. Lee products.

I will make these comments though. The Lee products are not cheap! You get what you pay for. And they're not an item you can install yourself. Both the base and the top are quite heavy. It took two strong young men to get ours from the truck to our lanai behind the house.

Because we had researched the product and knew what we wanted, Leisure World was able to order and install one for us. They are not an O.W. Lee dealer--at least they weren't when we bought ours. You'd have to research where else they have dealers reasonably closeby. My guess is there are some in Orlando. Google the O.W. Lee website for more information. Or call them--they provided superb pre-sales advice. If you have someone to install it, you can order direct from them in CA at some savings.

Never a wood burner.Think of your neighbors.I never liked the smell of a wood fire unless I'm standing next to it by the lake or getting warm by a wood stove.

Thank you for your reply, we too have looked at o.w.lee and omni flame and understand the construction. the o.w. lee looks to be the most versitle. we have enjoyed a fire in the past but were not sure we would use it here.
