A gang of organized pick-pockets have been frequenting the town squares preying on unsuspecting visitors. Their tactic involves a distraction technique often used by thieves. This gang apparently consists of family members who use their young to distract nurturing adult women while adult gang members extract any loose money from open purses. It is unclear, at this time, exactly how this gang uses the purloined currency. But an area investigation has revealed several cans of Publix brand corn nibblets under shrubs found on egdes of ponds at several local golf courses. Authorities have already started interviewing employees at Publix stores in the area as this investigation continues.
