Just wondering if I have something in common with any other Villages residents. Are you a Disney fan? Is there a Disney lovers club in The Villages? Do you enjoy visiting Walt Disney World? I plan to have an Annual Pass once I relocate to The Villages, and hope to have some friends who want to visit the parks with me.

I am a huge Disney fan and my daughter and I (she's 46) visit WDW every September for a week. We have a membership in the Disney Vacation Club and plan on spending a lot of time in the parks when I move down to TV. My daughter will be relocating as well and although we will be close to WDW, an easy day trip, we can always come down for a weekend if we don't want to just come for one day. We can't wait!

I love Disney World. We went every year when the kids were younger and than again with our grandchildren. We even went two or three times, just the two of us. We both had business conventions there too. There for awhile I had my fill, but I am sure that there is much new to see, since last time I was there four or five years ago.

We have a Florida Seasonal Pass. It is a great deal. Have been there 4 times on this pass which about pays for it but have 9 months left on it and plan to go many more times.

My hubbie and I are huge Disney fans. We moved to Florida on June 1 2001 and on June 2 we bought our Florida resident passes. Didn't even wait to unpack any boxes. I haven't heard of any Disney clubs in TV, but that would be one I would certainly enjoy.

We are huge Disney fans also. So much so we also belong to Disney Vacation Club, and have been Annual Pass holders for several years. Another advantage to my mom moving down to TV, makes day trips a reality! We plan on always staying with her a few days before our Disney trips now and a day or two afterwards--or just dragging her with us. She likes it too ,but not the obsession like we have.

We're big Disney fans and DVC members as well. We just purchased in Hadley and will be down as snowbirds in Oct. We would be interested in a club.
We, too, are big Disney fans - did the annual Disney vacation every year while our kids were growing up. We can't wait to be close to DisneyWorld, and would enjoy being part of a Disney Club. We'll be there soon............so get the club goin'!!!!!

My wife and I do not live in TV yet but are coming down for a lifestyle preview visit the last week in July. We are both big Disney fans and enjoy visiting Walt Disney World whenever we visit Florida. In fact, the biggest problem that I have currently identified with TV is that it is further from Disney than I would like to be. We had been searching for a house closer to Lake Buena Vista.
I have searched for a Disney Lovers Club at TV but was not able to find one. Someone told me they have over 1,000 clubs so I don't know why there doesn't appear to be one for Disney lovers.
Good to know there are other Disney lovers in TV.

Our 1st year here we bought an annual pass and went constantly. We love Epcot, Disney, Mgm, Animal Kingdom, typhoon lagoon, etc... our daughter lives about 5 miles from the parks and we stay there when we go. We have Universal passes this year. 18 months for $99.......Maybe disney next year again. It is more expensive, but worth it if you go often! We stay away in summer, it is too hot and crowded!

So what would a "Disney club" actually do????
I think it'd be great if TV had a large van/bus or something for a group to use to travel to something like the parks.
OH...................... I hope we're there when a Disney Day Trip is planned!!! Could someone please buy our MN house, so I won't have to miss another FUN TOTV HAPPENING!!!!

Oh my gosh, am I ever a Disney fan. So is my daughter.
I use to wear a Jiminey Crickett pin on my hospital ID (long story)
Can't wait to get to TV and visit WDW often. Trips there with TV friends and Sistahs sounds like fun!!!

What would a "Disney Club" do? Well, first it would be a great community of peeps to call upon to visit the parks with each other. If we have any Disney collection(s), we could show them. If we had a large enough group, perhaps we could arrange to have bus transportation to the parks once or twice a month. These are just a few of my thoughts. I'm not yet in TV, so I can't yet start a club. If someone else wants to beat me to it ... feel free!
While I expect most of you are aware of these websites, in case not, you may want to view them. Of course, there are hundreds (thousands?) more, but these are my favs.

I also love Disney World. We have a stay at Disney World planned for the end of September. When we were deciding a couple of weeks ago whether to purchase a new villa in The Villages I asked my DH if that would mean I had to cancel my Disney trip. He said no so I knew that owning in The Villages would just mean more opportunities to go visit the mouse! I'm all in favor of some kind of Disney Club. Especially if we could arrange some bus transportation. My DH does not like to go as often as I do. If I spend enough time in The Villages I can become a Florida resident and get some great discounts. That would be great.

I am a huge Disney fan too. Although I bought a house in TV for many other reasons, the proximity to Disney was a big plus. I come to Florida when my schedule allows but I am hoping to come after Thanksgiving/before Christmas so I can visit Disney when it is decorated for Christmas! Who says you have to grow up??!!

lol Colleen. That's the beauty of living in TV -- we get to be kids all the time.
I can't say I'm a huge Disney fan but I do like it. I'd love it if it had decent coasters but it's coasters are so-so at best. Even so, it is a great place and wonderful for little ones.
Can you imagine what kind of place would have been created had Walt and Harold (Schwartz) gotten together?

Granddaughter is visiting from Va and we just got back yesterday from 3 days at Disney. Stayed in their Port Orleans Riverside Resort. Visited Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom and Epcot. Husband and I bought the annual pass and are looking forward to going back. Only took us about 1hr 15min to get there. WE LOVE THEIR FIREWORKS, LIGHTED PARADES, and everything else. We are going to try to go back at least once or twice a month. The pass for Florida residents was $350.00 each plus tax. they have one less expensive but there are blackout dates and we wanted to be able to go whenever the mood struck. My great niece (age 10) came to the Villages after a trip to Disney World and while walking around Lake Sumter Landing she said "This is just like Disney World." Thought that was cute--

Oh yes, we are huge fans. :a040: We grew up in Orange County, CA and lived there until 2004 when we came to AZ. We had Disneyland annual passes for years, and before that both of us spent a lot of our youth and teenage years there. My husband even worked there. We actually decided to move to Florida to be near Disney World because we missed Disneyland so much. Then we found TV, which is our dream come true... the closest thing on this planet to actually living in Disneyland. We bought a house last July and we can't wait to get there, which is now planned for December. We'll for sure get the annual passes to DW.

This is my first post on this site. Yes, yes, I'm a huge Disney fan. Am a member of a site called the DIS and have been to Disney many times.
I don't live in the Villages yet but am starting to look into this possibility and love the fact it's near Disney.

As you can see by our avatar, we're big Disney fans. MTNester you'll find that from down around 466A, you're only a little over an hour to the back gate of WDW on Western Way.

Like wdwduo said its a little over an hour from TV to WDW. Originally, I wanted to be a little closer to WDW but when I saw TV I started thinking how I would be willing to sacrifice being real close to WDW in exchange for some of the unique things that TV has.

IKE visited us in Indiana. We lost the shingles off the roof, a porch swing, a barbecue grill. But the worst was loosing my Bambi and my Thumper statues. They were blown off the deck and were beheaded and also Thumper lost his head and his ears.!
Have been looking to replace them but have searched all over the net .
My grandchild loved them. I have been down to WDW every year since it was opened. I know my vacations will be filled with music, flowers, colors, and parades etc. What a wonderful week to which I always looked forward.:a040:

Jan, all sorts of attractions you'd enjoy. So many I can't list 'em all,
if you narrow it down to a single park, I'd share more.
My DW, MrsJohnN is a disney-holic and knows the places inside out.

JohnN... I've seen your posts and remember that your wife loves DW, and that you are a neighbor! We've only been to Epcot once and didn't go to the other parks, mainly because we were having too much fun in TV and figured we'd spend plenty of time at DW when we get there. But we've been to Disneyland hundreds of times. I'd love to visit with MrsJohnN to compare notes, and learn about the special places to go in DW. So, when we get settled, I'll send you a PM and we can get together, is that ok with you?

Is there any place to buy "discounted" Disney tickets??? We will be staying in TV for two months starting Oct 15. Our son and family will be visiting for a week and want to take their 5-year old. (perfect age!!) We wanted to tag along for a day and tickets are the same everywhere I look. Is this the norm?? If so, I'm sure we will go anyway. I'm just all for a deal, if I can find one. . .
JohnN
10-07-2008, 09:15 AM
Kepple, Florida residents (ie: drivers license) get a sweet discount, so one more reason to buy. You also get better prices when buying more than a day at a time, but otherwise, it is what it is as far as I know.

Thanks John, that's what I thought re: Disney tickets. I didn't know about the FL resident discount though. You're right, one more reason to buy. I think this is going to be our year! Thought we were going to sell our home in OH, but I think we are going to buy a smaller TV home for now and wait for the market to get better to sell this one. We've rented for five years now and never seem to go anywhere else. I guess that says something!
