Just arrived at TV on Friday for the first time as a homeowner. My wife and I are very excited about this new phase of our lives.
I have taken on the job of removing the grass from our CYV and so far all is going well.
I have sections of sod available for free, if anyone wants to stop by. The address is 2358 Haddington ct Tamarind grove. I may be in back and may not hear the door bell so please peek in the courtyard before leaving or call me at 860 882-9254
thanks

STOP what you are doing, do your deed restrictions allow you to remove the grass?

I'm also a DIYer.
Can you share your method of sod removal?
Thanks!

Hi: I actually rented a sod cutter and truck from home depot and was a able to cut the grass and take it to a land fll in about 3 hours. Once done cutting I put the sod on the truck and took it to a private dump on 466a. It is across the street from Colony shopping center. cost for removing all the grass on a CYA is as follows:
$110 for sod cutter and truck
$29 for dump run.
$150 for 300 feet of weed barrier
$570 for 6 tons of rock from dirt cheap...
overall I am very happy I did it myself.

Thanks for the details John.
I forgot about Home Depot rentals.
Looks like I could save a lot DIY.
Will plan the project when the Grandkids (rock movers) are down.
Thanks again!

I often wonder about people removing all of the grass in the yards of their CYV. It seems that concrete holds more heat. I wonder if the grass keeps it slightly cooler in the summer?
