View Full Version : WE NEED AN OLIVE GARDEN & RED LOBSTER IN TV - Help with an EMAIL CAMPAIGNE
:hot:
We need to lobby for these additions to The Villages.... Darden Restaurants owns Olive Gargen, Red Lobster, Bahama Breeze,Smokey Bones BBQ and Grill. Send an email to corpgrowth@darden.com and suggest they look at The Villages.
Cut and Past below or make up you own message.....
To Whom it may concern,
I live in central Florida in a 55+ community called The Villages. This community currently has over 40,000 homes ( about 60,000 retirees ) and will build out at 75,000 homes ( over 100,000 retirees ) in 5 years. There are already 63 restaurants here ( Check this site out http://home.comcast.net/~thevillagesgourmetclub/page1.html ) and we need more.
Here is some information about the demographics and traffic current and projected. http://www.thevillagescommercialproperty.com/traffic-counts.asp
We are located between 17 miles south of Ocala and 12 miles North of Leesburg. Each of those small towns has your restaurants.... ( BUT VERY INCOVIENIENT ) Please consider building one here SOON....

I sent my email. Also asked them to pick sites that are GOLF CART ACCESSABLE. Barb

Better yet, tell them to build on Hwy. 42 where this stuff is sorely needed.

Like Olive Garden, Carabba's is a chain of Italian restaurants and it's already in TV. Has anyone been there and didn't find the food exceptional and overall experience pleasant? If you haven't tried Carabba's, do yourself a favor and try it. And yes, forgive me for not following suit on this post. But I'd also like to see an Olive Garden and several more Dunkin Doughnuts while we're wishing.

Being that I currently live in western ny , just over the border from southern ontario, let me know when 'Tim Hortons' coffee comes to TV... Tim was an ex-Toronto Maple Leaf whose name on this coffee/donut/soup/sandwich chain is making his family rich! Coffee rivals Dunkin Donuts (which I drank for years living on LI)...

I am pretty sure that I read in the paper that both Red Lobster and Olive Garden are coming here. I don't think they will be golf cart accessable so should mention that to them.

I agree with JohnZ, There is a lot of room in front of the Publix on 42 for a Red Lobster and and Olive Garden. And it is golf cart accessible.

I've contacted Legal Sea Foods, as they have 3 locations on the east coast of Florida and I know from correspondence with the CEO that they are considering new locations.
Anyone who has been to one can vouch for the excellent food, top quality service and consistency.

This concept works for any restaurant or store in which you're interested. Almost all decent sized places have web site which you can easily find via google. Most of those sites have a "Contact Us" page which will include an email address. Send them a note telling them how much you miss their service/products/food and point out what a great opportunity they'd have here in TV. Use the form letter at the top or compose your own, but contrary to popular opinion, spelling does count if you want to be taken seriously. (That's why we have Spell Check on most email systems. :yikes:)
It's also a good idea to bring up the golf cart issue. Nobody outside of this area believes we really use them like we do. I can understand the desire for something on Hwy 42. I'd like everything to be on 466A since it's closest to me. The important thing, though, is to get them thinking of TV. If they go golf cart accessible, it would make Crossman and the developer happy, but even if they went into the new Lady Lake developments, it's a win for us. 040 040 040
Send a letter. A month or so down the road, send another letter. Have your friends and neighbors do likewise. And be sure to tell these people how great their store/restaurant is and how much you really, really, really miss it.

Bone Fish Grill gets high praise, and when it opens later this year, it may satisfy your taste for seafood. Carrabba's is already in TV and is every bit as good, if not better, than Olive Garden. Of course Leesburg is not all that far. George

Let me second the love for Tim Horton's. Not only was he a Leaf, but his Sabres jersey #2 was retired and flies over the ice at HSBC Arena.

Tim Horton's was also very popular in MI. I really miss their banana nut muffins.

I linked this entire thread to an e-mail message I sent to the Olive Garden "contact us" address last night. We have to have an Olive Garden or my wife refuses to move here. :yikes:

Here is the response I received from Olive Garden:
Thank you for visiting olivegarden.com.
We appreciate your desire to have an Olive Garden restaurant in your community. Thank you for the invitation. At this time, our expansion plans do not include locations in or near The Villages, FL. However, we are always looking for new sites for future expansion. Your suggestion will be shared with those responsible for site selection. In the meantime, please view our future location list on our web site at http://www.olivegarden.com/company/contact_us/faq.asp#future_Olive_Garden
If Guest Relations can be of further assistance, please write us again through olivegarden.com (www.olivegarden.com/company/contact_us/ ) or call us at 1-800-331-2729. We look forward to serving you with Hospitaliano at any of our Olive Garden restaurants.

My Daughter has been a waitress @ Olive Garden In Naples,Fl. for four yrs,the lunch crowd is all soup & salad/a glass of water, they refill the salad bowls prior to leaving so they may take it home, same with the bread sticks, can you estimate the tip left to the server on a 5.95 meal? Why doesn't she change shifts you may ask...to spend the evenings with her husband.
The average age of this customer??you guessed it.TV age group.

al: Could it be possible that Olive Garden regional managers are aware of this old fart cheap skate "the world owes it to me" behavior and therefore consciously choose not to locate here?

OK I'm not a connoisseur but really...
What is the fascination with OG? There has to be numerous restaurants in or near TV that have what OG can offer. I like OG but I could certainly live without it. Carrabbas is in TV and that is just as good IMHO. And I'm sure that other Italian restaurants exist or will be built.

Really don't see how anyone could possibly consider The Olive Garden a classy place. Plus their food is mediocre at best. I'm notsure I'd even cal it an Italian Resturant.

Just going to say that we have both and don't really care for their portion controlled, pre-prepared (not fresh) flash frozen portions. Love the soup and salad for lunch though at Olive Garden "where everyone is family".
Can hardly wait, this will cause an uproar..........

See how history changes? We wish for it and we get it! Someone sends on those surveys that we all fill out. I asked for several things this time that we don't have in Cincinnati but my Chicago friends have told me about.
This thread was started in 2007. A LOT of development since then.
I love to just watch all the growth here.

After a certain amount of time threads with no posting activity should be turned into read only so people are forced to start a new one.
Just my opinion.
I grew up on Chef Boy-Ar-Dee so eating at Olive Garden is a treat!!

Yes, there wings are fantastic! We also like just about everything else on the menu also. Never had a bad meal yet at a Hooters.
The problem is the "mis-information" about Hooters that people believe. Just about everyone thinks it is a strip club of some sort with girls that have big tops hanging at. The fact is most are really very small! I saw a survey the average Hooters Girl is a B/C which is smaller then the National average for women which is a C. And they dress in a tank top, shorts and sneakers. How that is a girl place is beyond us!
