Enjoy your visit! You're going to love it here.
Whatever you are imagining, it's even better. :)

We came Labor Day weekend...just to look. We bought that very day. Closed Oct 7th. I can't wait to come back down mid Nov.

just remember we have sinkholes all over, and any price u get on a home be sure to ask how much is the bond , that is not usually included in the price quoted,,, it is a great place,, if dog poop is an issue, well that is a pretty good place! it gets wild and wolley around here when the snowbirds get here! enjoy!

Are you saying there have been a lot of sinkhole problems in the villages?

There are many sinkholes all over the villages sometimes they are disguised as water main breaks while they are Watermain breaks because the sinkhole has created a hole in the ground and the water main breaks it has become a hassle to be able to get homeowners insurance with sinkhole coverage
The deductibles have went out the roof insurance companies are in the business to make money and if they won't insure your Property they almost certain to have a good reason. Sinkholes alligators and dogs pooping in our yard these are fears that all of us here must deal with. Enjoy your visit there is no place on gods earth like this place

Oh stop scaring her. This is the sinkhole map of Florida.http://www.the-hurds.net/GIS/Florida-Karst-Sinkholes/JPGs/Florida-Sinkhole-Map.jpg

There is probably more REAL danger from a lightning strike.

Maybe you will dodge a sinkhole who knows but the facts are facts. They are here

Stroglass, Have a great lifestyle visit. I just had a lifestyle visit last week, and the house was so large I should have brought my extended family with me LOL. You will be adjacent to Lake Sumter Landing -- I could walk to Panera Bread in 9 minutes. Enjoy and let us know how the visit goes.

We had our visit the beginning of October and whatever you imagine your visit to be, it will be 100% better! We used our feet, golf cart (yes, we ended up in a car street!), and bikes. Never needed a car and had a fabulous time. We worked with Ron Delk and he was a fantastic Agent. We ate in non chain restaurants and all the restaurants we tried were delicious. At one point, we pulled over in our golf cart to look at the map to figure out where we were, and someone stopped to help. I don't know where you live, but that would never happen in PA. Our Villa was beautiful, activities great, but nothing compared to the friendliness we found every place we went. Enjoy your visit and do as much as you can to get the full experience. You won't be disappointed.

FYI: We have sink holes in PA and seem to be everywhere. Don't let this deter you.

Thanks Gracie I am sure that living in new jersey is also got its issues
Villageshooter does not change my mind I'm from Jersey it take a lot more then a sink hole to get to me and if you could see what we pay for insurance now after sandy how bad could it be?
We have seen some home but nothing we would want but the hunt continues to day. The plan is to be in Tv no matter what so we will cont the hunt as long as it takes

Enjoy your visit and don't forget the checkbook.

Every place has a certain amount of danger wherever you live.

Being from the northeast, We thought we were in the safest area in terms of weather disasters and then Sandy came along followed by more than three feet of snow. :22yikes:

I agree with Gracie that one would be more concerned with a lightning strikes than sinkholes.

Just saw a golf cart with a plate "New Jersey Girl". Girl, I would't call her but she seemed to have that spunk as she drove away. There are lots of Jersey Boys here too. Welcome and enjoy your stay. Strike up a conversation anywhere, anytime and it will be amazing where you might end up. When you are on a golf cart, stop and get on to the grass near the cart path, take out a map and pretend you are lost. You'll always find a Good Samaritan to answer your questions and get a good vive of The Villages.

We had a fantastic time during our visit which I wrote about here:

https://www.talkofthevillages.com/forums/villages-florida-new-members-forum-115/we-loved-our-lsv-92328/

It was everything I was hoping it would be and more. I loved every second and am busy getting rid of stuff and thinking of ways hubby can retire early so we can move there!

Hope you have a great time!
