Wow! Today the happy paper, aka Daily Sun, did not sound so happy. There was a violent road rage incident, a self inflicted gun shot death by Lake Sumter and the report on a severe golf cart injury.

Reporting the news---that's what a newspaper suppose to do.

Let's see............................ print good news and you are ridiculed as being "the happy paper" and print sad news and you are disparaged for not being "the happy paper."

I'm very pleased with the editorial decisions of The Daily Sun.

Happy
Happy

We feel safe and happy in The Bubble for the most part. But of course, some residents still experience accidents, illness, depression, dementia .... we are all human and life is cyclical. We just need to appreciate the good times, roll with the punches and pray for the unfortunate.

The Sun also reported this week that golf clubs had been stolen and reported that the story heard on here several weeks ago was true, that clubs were stolen from an open garage in Tall Trees by three people in a pick up truck.

The Sun has it's enemies, but it is mostly people who don't like the editorial page.

For 100,000+ people plus the itinerants (contractors, retail and restaurant employees, doctors, nurses, patients, relatives of residents and NSA spies) undesirable events around The Villages really are rare. A Super Hero here would probably have to go on unemployment.

What's so wrong about a "happy paper"? Don't you get enough crime and gore from your other available papers and television?
Any major city newspaper, and/or tv station, seem to always lead with death and destruction reports. I have seen enough of these to last a lifetime. Tell me about smiling folks and eagle scouts !!!!

We live in a community that is getting larger every day..
We as residents need to take responsibility for our actions...Some say we live in a bubble a secure community..
I do not believe in that analogy. We live in a time where people are frustrated and angry over the government; healthcare plans; cost of groceries etc. Some people handle that stress well other's don't. Does that mean we should see road wage, absolutely not..We live in a community with lots of people from all walks of life.We need to get along, be friendly with one another. Will crime still happen, yes. Crime is everywhere, all over country.. Are there solutions to problems, yes there are, but, we have to want to make the changes. Knowing there is crime in TV and leaving you garage door open is not good....

Assuming one person per incident reported......the other 99,997 of us are still
HAPPY.

Isolated incidents do not make a trend....they are fodder for news reporters and the gullible

Hey, I love the Daily Sun. It is often criticized for not reporting anything negative. Today I saw something other than happy news, just an observation.
