View Full Version : Fiddler on the Roof
The performance of Fiddler on the Roof at the Savannah Center was magnificent. Does anyone know if the cast was all local? Bill Krone was Tevye (the milkman) and was incredible. The costuming and the staging were well done. It was a full house.

I am so glad to hear it and I hope your mother loved it.
We saw and heard The Village Voices last Sunday and the Presbyterian Church was packed, must have been a thousand enthusiastic people in the audience. There were 140 enthusiastic singers for sure, and this year they were joined by one small group of special guests singing one small part, but expertly. The special group of singers was from a special choir of third and fouth graders at the Village Charter School.
Vunderbar!

I also saw Fiddler and loved it!! It was so well done by the actors and actresses and I thought the scenery was just perfect. Yes, I believe they were all locals - Tony Oteri who played Perchik (the student) bowls on the same league as me. And of course, Billy Thatcher (Golda) is a well known local. We have such talent here in The Villages - I try not to miss events put on by our Villagers - we all appreciate the support of our hard work.
I don't know if there are still tickets available but I believe there are still performances today. You don't want to miss it. And Gracie, yes my mother loved it.

We went last night and I can't sing the praises of the performance. Many of the actors/performers were very good but the sound system for the performers signing was something I would expect to hear at a high school musical not a performance at the Savannah Center. With the sound system so poor it was hard to make out the words of the songs and dialog at times. I felt sorry for the performers.

You are right about the sound system - was terrible on Friday night. Many thought it was because it was the first night - Guess not.

I saw the show on Monday and it was great. Voices were heard with no problems. I applaud everyone who participated in this play... Also all the stage help who moved the furniture and scenes around deserve to be applauded...
