Looks like Doug already took care of that fella from the look of his neck. Corn snakes are ok, but Coral snakes are poisonous, a lot of folks mix them up.

I get mixed up about coral vs king snakes. I once tossed a coral snake out of the house with a pair of kitchen tongs. oops.

Coral snakes pack a nasty bite, inspiring folk rhymes to help people tell them apart from their non-venomous cousins. Red bands touching yellow bands are a sign of venom in coral snakes, but only in North American species. On other continents, venomous coral snakes come in many colors and patterns. Habitat.

Technically speaking, venomous means the toxin must be injected such as by fangs as with spiders or snakes. Poisonous means the toxin is eaten such as a poisonous mushroom. That was drilled into all volunteers at the National Zoo in Washington, DC.

Thank you, BogieShooter. Being a volunteer at the National Zoo Invertebrate House and the Reptile House was a lot of fun and interesting to give demonstrations and tours. How many Villagers can say they ever hand fed a Giant Pacific Octopus (named Caroline)?
