We are moving to TV in just a couple of weeks. I hear there are a couple of dog parks. Can someone please tell me where they are? Thanks in advance!

Doggie Do Run Run is north of 466 on CR101 which is an extension of Belvedere. It is a private for pay one.

There are three Villagers only dog parks. These are rather small. One has the small dog section on a steep incline which is a huge pain to use. This one is near the Bonita Way Fire Station. There is one up near the Nancy Lopez Country Club just off the Springdale Fitness Trail. Small but nice grass. Paradise Lake also has one but it is mostly dirt. http://www.districtgov.org/departments/Recreation/dogparks.aspx http://www.retirementinthevillages.com/Pets.html
Doggie Doo Run Run is ten acres or so, privately run and they pick up the poop. You just are supposed to mark it. Kirby at the Dog Park YouTube. http://youtu.be/5fE_h84b3ws

Sorry for duplicating some of Tal's information ... We were both posting at the same time.
There are three Village owned dog parks. One is located in the "historical" part of TV, east of CR 441. One is located in the north/west quadrant. The third is located south of CR 466 beside the Bonita Fire Hall. The Village owned dog parks tend to be small, but they're free and golf cart accessible.
We prefer to use a private dog park called Doggie Doo Run Run. If you become a member, the cost is $25 per month for one dog and $30 per month for two dogs. Or you can pay by the visit, I think it is $3 (Tal, please correct me if the prices have increased). They clean up after your dog, you just put a small flag in the ground to mark the spot!
Doggie Doo Run Run is a spacious, wonderful dog park. It's on ten acres with separate parks for dogs under 30 lbs and large dogs. Your dog must have a rabies certificate and be neutered. There's also another fenced exercise area at the back where all sizes of dogs and their humans can exercise. There are two hanging swings where you can read or chill out. There are seating areas in both the small and large dog parks where you can sit, chat to like-minded people and make new friends.
Even though it's not part of The Villages, we go there daily when we're in TV. Our dogs totally love it there, and we do too! It's a stone's throw away from TV on CR 101 north of CR 466 ... North of Southern Trace Plaza.
Please PM me if you have any questions!
P.S. I see you'll be living south of CR 466. Bonita would be the closest dog park for you, but it's smallish and on a hill.

Personally, we love Mulberry Dog Park. We can access it with our golf cart (hang on to your pups in these things!) via the Fitness trail. It is a really lovely drive through Nancy Lopez golf course.
Also it has beautiful grass, a part for little dogs and really nice folks to chat with.
I haven't tried Doo Run Run but plan to do so. I just enjoy the trip to Mulberry rather than loading my babies into the car to get to 101.
Just personal preference.

There is a petition for a dog park on the south side. There are people sitting at the mail box areas of Sanibel, Charlotte and Hillborough, on rotating days. 3,000 signatures are needed, last count there were a tad over 1,000 received. Not an easy task. I'm not sure where the petition will be on what days.

We normally use the Paradise dog park on a regular basis. I will be considering using the one at Mulberry once the weather cools off. I tryed during the summer but it was just to hot with no shade.

I might add two things: the Bonita dog park is only open in the mornings till about 11, and then again in the late afternoon. Closed in between. At least, that was the case a year ago.
Doggie Doo Run Run used t have a washing station where you could bathe your dog. Don't know if that's still the case.
If anyone knows where the petition can be signed and when, I would love to know so I can go sign.

I agree that more dog parks are needed. I applaud the enthusiasm of those people sitting at the mail box areas gathering signatures.
You say that 3,000 signatures are needed. I'm curious ... has The Villages Management confirmed to you that with a Petition signed by 3,000 people, they will provide a dog park?

I'd sign it if somebody says when and where they'll be.
