I called Triple A Golf Carts out of Summerfield to install retractable seat belts in my golf cart. He came to my work to install the seat belts. When he was finished I asked to to give me a 5 minutes to finish up helping my customer and he said he couldn't wait. I paid him in cash and he left. When I went out to see the seat belts...only one side of each belt is retractable. They are installed on a bar and the outside belt is retractable and and the one that you click the belt into sticks out 11-12 inches and is encased in a hard plastic sleeve. The bar is also crooked...not straight... This is not what I wanted...I wanted all belts to retract so they would be out of the way. I called him immediately...we had 3 phone chats that evening on what I wanted to do...he finally said he would take them out. This was on Wed 10/23. I can't even count the number of phone calls I have made with no return calls to set this up. He finally said on Friday that he would be out on Monday (10/28) to take the seat belts out and refund $85 of my $125. Well I called 3 times today to see what was going to happen and ...no return phone calls...seat belts are still installed in my golf cart. On my last voice mail I left him...I said if I did not hear from him by 6:00 this evening I was going to "Talk of The Villages". These seat belts are not what I had understood them to be and contacted him as soon as I was finished with work...2 hours after they were installed. Tomorrow will be 1 week and I still can't get any satisfaction. I am beginning to think I am dealing with not a reputable company.

I installed my own belts and I do not recall seeing such an animal as belts being retractable from both sides. They are not even that way in a car. Did someone promise you specifically dual retractable belts?

If I owed somebody $125 and asked for 5 minutes.........I would get it or they would not get the $125!

Sorry.....what I should have said was seat belts that do not stick out 12 inches. They are usually are out of the way as much as possible. Many of my friends have seen my golf cart with these belts and not one of them have seen seat belts like this. The dog can't even sit in the seat. I expected seat belts that are out of the way......

They look fine to me. Ours are similar. Don't have to set on them and easy to find. I like them.

As far as the $125...he rolled his eyes at me and was in no mood to wait...I was busy with a customer and I should have had him wait...and not paid him....regardless....I am not happy with the product (this is not what I had in mind) and he is dodging my phone calls.

Sorry you didn't get the job done the way you wanted it. Did you choose this company out of the yellow pages, newspaper or reference from a friend?---just curious.
Usually a reference is the most reliable way to go.

TV Golf Cart Store is very good. We had our seat belts, custom seats, and other things done there and they are excellent. It's not worth it to go somewhere else to save a few bucks or fight to keep a few bucks from the developer. They do a good job and are very responsive.

It doesn't matter who did the work...it is not what I wanted and Triple A Golf Carts is dodging me.....

If you're not happy, you're not happy.
However, when we purchased our EZ Go, we ordered seatbelts. The two ends are the only ones which retract in ours as well. The part that you snap the buckle into, where yours sticks out a bit, ours does not. You need to be a contortionist to get them attached. Usually my husband will snap mine in and I snap his in. Very inconvenient to say the least. I would love to have the ones you have.

Why would your dog not be able to sit there? You would have the seat belts on, and the sleeves would not be lying on the seats because they would be up around your middle, attached to the other part of the belt.

Sorry this isnt working for you but this is a common way to install seatbelts. Have you thought about removing the plastic covers? They should either slide off or worst case cut them off. I had a similiar situation and I removed the covers. The downside is you are perpetually looking for the darn thing.

The seat belts are stationary....they do not move..so when you click your belt into the other end..they do not slide apart from one another...they stick straight out and do not move....I hope I am explaining this correctly...you would think they would move apart from one another...they are bolted together. Very uncomfortable. I could have tried and resolved any of these issues if Triple A Golf Carts had been receptive.....

Sorry, I misunderstood that they don't separate.

If you don't get any satisfaction from the installer, I believe you can remove the bolt holding the two ends in the center and then remove the plastic sleeve from the belts. This might let the belt ends fall down under the seat whenever you raise it, but they will be flexible that way.

Of course there are two sides to every story but if you complaints are legit, I'd continue to advertise your unhappiness on TOTV. It is a definite tool to spread the word. I am looking into seatbelts myself. Triple A will be taken off my list. What bothers me is, this guy couldn't wait a few minutes for you to inspect the job. You were foolish to pay him until you saw it. I sure as he'll wouldn't have. And if he couldn't wait, then he could remove them.

Yes...there are 2 sides to every story...however...this is Thursday and still no reply. I finally took the plastic sleeves off...it took some doing because the nut and bolt was not easy to get to. With the sleeves on you had to maneuver the belts up out of the way (and since it was hard plastic it was difficult...they didn't bend) to raise the seat up to put gas in the cart and then try to get them out of the way to lower the seat.
This could have been all resolved if I had gotten a phone....anyway I am done and have seats belts I hopefully will like.

I have the same.... Just keep them buckled up, and that will keep them out of the way

Quatiny, I see you are new to TOTV. Welcome to the forum. This isn't one of those forums where people blast the heck out of each other. We are polite and do not make personal attacks or snide remarks such as looking in the want ads for common sense... or else we hear from the Admin or the Mod.
We are allowed to express our opinions and talk about things we may not be happy with, such as how seatbelts were installed in the golf cart. Maybe someone else will not use that company because of the OP's concerns. It makes the forum a good source of information for all.
And companies DO monitor this forum to judge how their customer service is going.

The pictures look like a fine job. $125. Seems more than fare for that set up. He came to your location, furnished the material and did the labor for a buck and a quarter.
