Does anyone know where we can purchase insurance for a golf cart in a rental unit. We cannot find a insurance company that will insure a golf cart if it is being used by renters. Any suggestions?

Won't swear to this, but supposedly Allstate will cover a golf cart in a rental property if it is simply offered for use to renters. That is, it is not part of the rental agreement, there is no contract whatsoever regarding the golf cart -- you are offering to loan it to the renters at no additional charge. Seems to be the only way to get around it. Even companies that rent carts cannot get insurance for the renters using those carts.

I've found that most renters are pretty careful with golf carts -- especially, when their liability it explained to them. Most accidents here seem to be caused by us folks who are too comfortable driving our carts and get careless and by older grandkids who just don't seem to understand carts are not as stable as cars.

This is correct and it's possible that Allstate is still the only company offering such insurance. Yes, to comply owners must offer to loan the cart to their rental guests at no extra charge. Owners are allowed to charge whatever rent they wish for their property, so the use of the cart can be factored into the overall rent.
This creates a situation which is identical to your giving permission to a neighbor or relative to use your cart. You and the borrower are fully insured.

Allstate does. They were the only ones who wil
