I'm wondering if there are any nurses out there who are working somewhere in the Villages area? I'm looking for work and having difficulty - any tips?

Persistance is the only advice. The hospital has some seasonal positions and always has postings. Plenty of Home Care . Like any job employers are often offering jobs but no benefits. A tough market right now for anyone. Keep trying and Good Luck. You will find something

It isn't as easy as one might think for nurses to get work in The Villages. Between requiring a very specific work experience and 12hr shifts, the search can be challenging. Older nurses don't always want to do that anymore! I wish you good luck.

Hi Ruth: I think its easier to get the job once you are there in person. Not sure why this is . . . the only job I was able to get in 2009 was an hr. drive away. However, I'm psych specialty. Believe it or not, there are very few Mental Health-Psych nurse positions available in TV. Really? A handful of senior suicides in the past few years??
Anyway, you may have more luck in person. Also, jobs in Home Health in TV are probably easy to come by now. Just remember, lots of paperwork to do after hrs.
I think if you decide where you'd like to work and then send your resume - might be a good start. Good luck.

One thing I learned is that you don't look in the help wanted ads any more. You need to go to the individual web sites for the most part. My facility, Promise Hospital is hiring, so check it out! You might want to network at the Nurses Club although that's mostly retired nurses, but I did get some good leads when I was searching. Good luck and let me know how it's going!
