Ok, I don't understand...I post a question asking for a jeweler reference (which may very well be in The Villages as we all live here) in the general Villages area and Administration notifies me that they moved my thread to Non Villages discussion. But then I read threads about Kindles, toupees, things to be thankful for at Thanksgiving, etc. on the general area as well. Why weren't these moved, or why was my thread picked out among all the others to be moved?

Good question. I'll be waiting for an explanation, too, as your question seems in the realm of The Villages.

For the 'correct' answer - i am guessing you would have to ask the administrator...i don't have a right or wrong answer to share with ya!

How do you ask an administrator?

How do you ask an administrator?

Click on the "Community" button at top of page. Scroll down to "Members List". Click on the "A" of the alphabet and go to the page where Admin is listed. Click on Admin then send a message in the message box.

I've copied the page but not sure it will work. Here it is:
Talk of The Villages - Members List (https://www.talkofthevillages.com/forums/members/list/a4.html)

Doesn't that only report a post? Not sure that gets to the Administrator. My thought is it gets to a moderator.

You could be right, but I bet clicking that "!" and asking a question addressed to ADMIN, would get where it is intended to go. At least it works that way on a forum where I have experience as a moderator.

Mods, feel free to edit or correct this post if it is not correct. Thanks!

Scroll to the bottom of the page. There is a "Contact Us" icon, click and send your question.

In the "OLD" or early days of TOTV, I understood that questions relating to "the Villages" directly, having to do with the bond, real estate taxes, closing costs, etc., were to use The Villages, FLorida General Discussion category.

I have noticed over the years that this has changed a lot with new people coming onto the forum and I didn't see the Admin comment or move them to the correct topic category, so I surmised that we were becoming more lenient with this rule. Actually, I used to post the monthly Crispers meeting in Non-Villages Category because it had nothing to do with specific village questions or comments.

It doesn't answer your question as to why your post was singled out and maybe the Admin can address this for us.

We probably move 10 threads a day from one forum area to another more appropriate area. In retrospect, the topic in question should have been moved to "Contractors and Services" or left where it was.

Sending a PM to Admin or Moderator or using the red report a post triangle is the preferred method for bringing up issues with site administration decisions.

The topic has been addressed so this thread will now be closed.
