Another "Now I've seen it all" thread

Came through the gate by Mulberry Grove this morning and saw a lady walking while carrying an umbrella. It wasn't raining and it wasn't sunny. When I passed her, I saw that she had a big green parrot on her shoulder. I guess the umbrella was to keep if from flying away.

Maybe it was the parrot holding the umbrella while taking the lady for a walk....

Nothing really that unusual about seeing someone out walking with their pet bird. Our large blue/gold macaw loves it when we take him out of the house & into some fresh air. Let's hope the lady you saw has had her bird's flight feathers clipped, so I doubt if the umbrella was to keep it from flying away. Most likely her bird is frightened of seeing other birds flying overhead, hence the umbrella.

I certainly don't know for sure, but was told she uses the umbrella so he doesn't fly away???

I see her occasionally and I do not think it strange at all. There is also a woman that rides a bicycle with a cage on the back with a bird in it.
