Rick I look forward to attending the meeting. I am surprised you have already set up some ideas about the Community Garden such as having members "provide fresh produce, herbs, and flowers to Villagers that are willing to help with production." It sounds like we are moving away from what, I believe, was a Community Garden set up where each person had an individual plot where they could grow their own produce for their personal consumption. Maybe some other gardeners can chime in here, especially the original OP. You appear to making some decisions on the Community Garden mission and set up before we have even had our first meeting. I hope we are all going to have a say in what kind of Community Garden we are going to set up.

I have a lot of space and something for everyone. Some will want an individual plot others will wan't to farm as a co op. I'm only making suggestions, at the end of the day you guys will decide how it's run. I'm just here to support it. I do feel that the more people involved the better.

Thank you I read their biography and it's a wonderful thing! That is why i'm doing this to give back to the community that's given so much to me. The direction it takes is ultimately up to the residents of the villages.

hope to see you there grace! I've read some of your posts and you are very informed positive person!

What do you suppose the rent might be for a plot?

The cost will depend on the size of the plot but it won't be that much it really depends on how many people participate. The more that participate the lower the cost when expenses are shared things like fertilizer, nutrient rich soil, stakes, etc. go down. Some may decide to use a system like vertagrow you can find them in bulk on Craigslist. By using that type of system you will maximize the aria dedicated to you but it will be more expensive to start it up.

As far as what i'll charge i'm not sure what my cost will be yet but i'm not looking to make money off of this i'm happy to donate the use of the land and cover my electricity costs for the irrigation.
