Greetings from a soon to be Gilchrist Girl from Columbus! Closing in January and will be there a week. Would love to meet some of you... then I need to find the Target and Best Buy..

I have no clue where any of the stores are but loved the neighborhood and my house so much it didn't matter.. :a040:

Go east on 466A.

Make a left onto 441.

Target and Kohl's will be on your left.

Best Buy is at the intersection of 441 and Rolling Acres Rd on your left.

Hope this helps you.

Congrats. Best wishes as you start living the dream.

'We came, we saw, we bought.' Is that like veni, vidi vici (Latin for I came, I saw, I conquered). Congrats on saying goodbye to snow and welcome.

I'm the woman you met who will be your neighbor. You will have no problem finding Target and Best Buy. They're in a strip where you pretty much find all the stores you could want. Country back roads to get to it are really dark at night but such is life.

We first visited new vacationeers to the Villages last year, stayed with them one day and had fun exploring with them.
We then did a search and review in May of this year and tasted the Kool-Aid.

We just completed a Life Style Preview and had a lot of time with our realtor Angela and a lot of time on our own comparing houses and lots and locations.
We put down our deposit on an Iris in Gilchrist and will close in December.
We meet one neighbor and I think we will fit in just great.
Can't wait to become full-timers in 9 to 12 months.
We will be furnishing and sporadic visiting over that period of time. Whooo Hoooo.
Greg

We will be there again for closing in January, then get to stay for only 2 weeks before heading back north. But we will be full time in less than 2 years!

I had to chuckle when I saw the original post. Mom and I came for our first visit almost two years ago. We put a down payment on a lot on that three day visit, had our design team meeting a couple of months later and about a month later had our Lifestyle Visit. I'm still waiting to move to TV! But, I love to visit!

Go Blue!

We had friends that had been asking us several years to vacation with them in the Villages. Our last kid went to college and we said, "ok" thinking we were just going on a simple vacation. We bought that first week. Carpe Diem!

We are still a couple of years away from retirement . . . and we can't wait.
