Looks like our boy George, the poster child for gun rights and the stand your ground law has gotten himself arrested once again. Maybe the gun rights folks should pick a different poster child. This guy is more screwed up than OJ.

This CNN link below says details haven't been released yet of his arrest for a "disturbance call".
I don't think anybody here would argue that he's a choir boy nor that he's probably pretty screwed up. But that's not a reason to re-try him every time he gets stopped or hauled in by police.
Not to excuse him, but I think there are a lot of people out there who are probably LOOKING for a reason to get the guy prosecuted for something again, who could include cops. Many would like to haul in a "big fish" and receive the accolades.
Fortunately, we are tried in a court of law on the single indictments made against us, not past indictments already tried resulting in "not guilty" by definition of the law.

It's news. And if a jury is involved the influence of the media is always there no matter what a juror might say about being objective. We just need jurors who are better educated about the US and State Constitutions and the like as well as to the tricks and failings of the lawyers and judges.
George Zimmerman seems like quite a hothead and the media attention seems to have increased that passion rather than ease it to any degree.
I see no comparison though with OJ who seems like a very cold blooded murderer.

Police just had a press conference and said Zimmerman pointed a shotgun at his present girlfriend. She managed to get outside and called police. When the police arrived Zimmerman was barricaded inside the apartment, but police were able to enter and arrest him. Zimmerman has been charged with assault, battery and criminal mischief, according to deputies. He was taken to the Seminole County jail.
Lost track of all the encounters Zimmerman has had with law enforcement since he was acquitted of murdering Trayvon Martin.

There may be some very serious charges out of this, if there is sufficient evidence to support them.

the only evidence they have is the girl friend's statement. Let's wait a few days and see if it changes like the last incident where it went from him pointing a gun at her to there was no gun at all.
So we shall see how this round of the circus meanders.

Looks to me like he LIKES negative attention.
Water will reach it's own level.
When he killed Trayvon Martin there were many other incendiary factors involved to make the case extremely controversial.
It appears to me NOW that George Zimmerman cannot control himself and he has a mean streak for sure.
Before the death of Trayvon Martin I was absolutely against having guns in the home.
Now I am changing my mind about that issue.
But I am still convinced Trayvon Martin did hit him. I don't think he was a boyscout either.
Nothing is ever simple. And the more violence and lack of morality and taking things that are not ours and the weak being preyed upon, the more complex it gets.
It is obvious that George Zimmerman is not an Eagle Scout and has very little self control.
I liked the way it used to be when more people had control of themselves..or it seemed so anyway.

But Zimmerman is showing himself to be an arrogant fool with an anger problem. No one who has that many run ins with the police is an innocent bystander. Someone needs to get control of this guy and take his guns away before someone else dies.

My theory was and is that Zimmerman set Martin up -- he deliberately followed him and intimidated, hoping the kid would do exactly what he did: confront him. That gave him the right to shoot. Sickening but legal.
So far, Zimmerman has behaved exactly as I would expect any AA (arrogant a*****e) to behave. He's a mean-spirited, ill-tempered bully. More than likely, he's going to end up either in prison or dead unless he somehow turns his attitude and life around very, very soon.

George Zimmerman will be released from jail on $9000 bail, has been ordered to wear a monitoring device, cannot leave the state, must stay away from this girl friend, and must relinquish all of his guns. His next court appearance is set for Jan 7, 2014.
Zimmerman is being represented by the public defenders office, no sign of Atty Mark O'Mara at the press conference. The state of Florida now gets to pay to prosecute and to defend Zimmerman.

His behaviors collectively show, it appears to me, that he's an Equal Opportunity antagonizer, and not purely a "racist" one.
When people start to over-use "racist" and throw it as their quickest and most overpowering trump card, it can become like the little boy who cried "wolf".....no longer meaningful to those who really are victimized by racism.

He was NOT working at the time of the Martin incident. He was on his way to the store when he spotted someone "suspicious" (profiling, yes, but reasonable profiling given previous incidents which had occurred). However, he brought this on himself when he followed Martin, denied following Martin to his face and walking away without ever explaining who he was and what was going on. You had two macho young men high on adrenaline, one of whom happened to have a gun and the other willing to use his fists. Not quite a fair matchup and the outcome was what it was.
Does Zimmerman deserve to have his life destroyed for poor judgment? Probably not but he also doesn't deserve any great sympathy, either. Most of his post-Martin incidents would be absolute non-news had he not shot a young man. However, Zimmerman did do the deed and now continues to act out in ways not conducive to keeping him out of the limelight.
When you get right down to it, we Florida residents are being victimized by Zimmerman. We paid for the trial in which Zimmerman was found innocent. We will pay for his defense in the latest domestic dispute incident. The negative publicity has hurt Florida by keeping some tourists away. Zimmerman needs to hitch up his big boy pants and move on after taking a good, long, hard look at himself and work on seriously changing his attitude and his life.

I was never a fan of either George Zimmerman nor Trayvon Martin and you captured my own feelings towards this two men. I did agree with the jury that there was not enough evidence to convict Zimmerman of manslaughter but it sure looked like there was more evidence than not that he did it intentionally. That is provoked Trayvon Martin by trying to play John Wayne.
There were movements for tourists to boycott Florida because of the Trayvon Martin case. Pretty much brought about by politicians using this tragedy for their own agendas with often little regard to the facts or even for allowing the facts to come out in this matter.
I really do not see George Zimmerman as losing his way because of this. It seems the opposite is true that he has become even more of a hothead and has quite a bit of hubris because he got away with it with the jury and SOME of the media.

Yes Bucco. I saw that discussed and examples shown a couple of nights ago. It truly made me fear that this kind of craziness could catch on and be widespread.
Society has been preserved to be reasonable only when people are taught moral rules. When the young and strong have no conscience and no order to their lives and nothing to do this could become a terrible thing and I don't often jump on something like that.
The very first time that I saw a real beating was the frequently repeated episode caught on camera of three young men on a school bus beating, pummeling and kicking another kid and it was absolutely shocking to me.
I don't know what we can do to change things. I think parents are going to have to give up two cars and a big house and one of them needs to stay home and teach their young ones what is right and wrong and pattern for them.
Too early with too much is better than too late with too little.

How would you prepare yourself for such an attack??? Seems to be no motive for whom these kids attack. And, it looks like they often do it from behind.
Best way to handle these might be for the prosecutor to make an example of someone caught doing this but that often does not work for teens who could care less about whatever the consequences might be.

You just wonder..the fear of calling anyone is now overwhelming in my opinion. The thugs and punks seem to get all the sympathy.....and this is not about the Zimmerman/Martin case, but I sure wish the outrage shared on here was reserved for this kind of people..not Zimmermans personal life AFTER TRIAL !
Sorry...it just bothers me that some have very misplaced priorities....

Sorry, but I think Zimmerman is a punk -- thought so before the trial, thought so after the trial, think so now with all of his current behavior. Martin may have been one but he wasn't when he died -- he was kid coming back from the store who probably felt intimidated and threatened and behaved accordingly (for his age and peer group).
As to those who think "knock out" is some kind of wonderful new game, I have no sympathy for them. I sincerely hope that these thugs get caught and severely punished. There is no excuse for this type of behavior.

I do not doubt your feelings about either Zimmerman or Martin. This subject has been beaten to death on here and everyone has a right to his/her opinion.
The point I was trying to make, and obviously not well, is that we show such outrage about a mans personal life who has already been through the system and show our concern for law and order and never mention this craze going on...just strikes me as a bit strange.
And trust me, if you care to actually read more about these knock out games, you will find that they are 100 PERCENT......OR MORE....a racist game. This fact alludes the press somehow while we entertain ourselves with Zimmermans personal life. Media does not report it....hmmmmm

First I ever heard of it was here. It sickened me to see it. I think it is a racist game in NYC. Sounds like other parts of the country are just "having fun." Regardless, it is nauseating and this is one liberal who will happily throw the book at 'em.
As to being outraged about Zimmerman and not commenting on this "game," I think there are several reasons. Zimmerman hits closer to home; the coverage of these thugs is just now starting and the outrage will occur as more of the media brings it up; it is too shocking to imagine this type of behavior could occur.
The reality is we could bewail and bemoan so much of today's news and the despicable behavior of some. Most of us choose not to unless it is thrown in our faces. Zimmerman is pretty much thrown in Floridians' faces. The knock out games of NYC are not mentioned much in Florida (yet) -- and probably won't get much mention here until the game is played in Miami, Orlando, Tampa. The murders that occur in Detroit, Chicago, Oakland may get a brief mention in Central Florida but are not considered big news stories. So, we relieve our moral outrage at what we know and, sadly, for now that is Georgie.

Ok...as far as Florida....
This is from FOUR MONTHS AGO...
Black racism in Florida: "Polar bear hunting" is illegal - Watchdog Wire - Florida (http://watchdogwire.com/florida/2013/07/04/black-racism-polar-bear-hunting-is-illegal-in-florida/)
Interesting reading if anyone cares.even gives the rules.
And "Georgie", as you refer to Zimmerman remains the poster boy for violence.
This has been going on in Chicago for a couple years now.

the hunters are nothing more than puny punks who thrive on the unsuspecting and weak.....phony cowards raised to notoriety by our social media mentality (good and bad).
The attack will get news coverage when one of the attacked responds and either hurts/wounds/kills the attacker......if the color combination is correct that is!!

Yes he is a true LOOSER from news reports this guy thinks he knows how to work the system, one less nut case with a gun on the streets hopefully. I am a NRA member and vote this may be why we need better background checks.
